We are proud of our students for their outstanding performance at the KY SkillsUSA State Competition!

Xander Brown earned 2nd Place in Carpentry 1, and our Tactical Response Team (Jeffrey Casey, Kaleb Casteel, Haven Parker, and Layten Tyree) also brought home 2nd Place honors in their event.

Their hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence continue to represent the Corbin Area Technology Center at a high level. Congratulations to all!

Join us in celebrating Corbin ATC student Sebastian Danniels! 👏

Sebastian was selected for the Kentucky Community and Technical College System’s Going Pro recognition, an honor awarded to outstanding students who are entering the workforce right here in Kentucky.

We are incredibly proud of Sebastian’s hard work, dedication, and commitment to building his future.

Lots of great things happening at the ATC!

Last week, we participated in the Redhound Roundup for Corbin 8th graders where our teachers got to meet with parents and students and discuss their programs and show them off!

Then, inside our building, we are still getting to impact students daily with real-world, hands-on experiences. In these pictures, we got to test our new, state-of-the-art tire balancer AND we see students learning and putting defensive tactics to the test with our instructor!

The Corbin ATC is the place for students to learn and gain great experiences that will stay with them for life!

Our Carpentry students are building and selling handcrafted cedar planters just in time for planting season! These beautiful planters would look great on your porch, patio, or entryway, and they also make a wonderful gift.

Pricing:
• $65 – Finished (sealed with spar urethane on the exterior)
• $50 – Unfinished

Not only are you getting a quality, student-built product, but your purchase will also help send our students to the SkillsUSA State Competition. 🛠️🏆

We are incredibly proud of our ATC students who competed in the regional SkillsUSA competition against area schools!

Our students showcased their skills in Carpentry, Automotive, and Welding at Somerset Community College Laurel Campus, while our HVAC and Law Enforcement students competed on-site at our school.

We’re excited to recognize three students who placed in their competitions:
🥇 Sebastian Danniels – 1st Place, Automotive Service Technology
🥇 Trevor Leach – 1st Place, Welding Sculpture
🥈 Xander Brown – 2nd Place, Carpentry I

Along with this, our Law Enforcement and HVAC competitors automatically move on to state competition, as they are the only programs in the area!

Career and Technical Education programs matter. These accomplishments reflect the dedication of our students and the commitment of our teachers who invest countless hours preparing them for real-world careers. We are proud of the skills, professionalism, and hard work they represent every day.

🎄 Operation Joy – Serving Our Community 🎄

Corbin Area Technology Center’s Law Enforcement class proudly participated in the 11th Annual Operation Joy event, helping bring Christmas meals to families in need across our community.

Under the leadership of Mr. Cox, students collected and organized 65 food boxes, each including turkey breasts, sides, milk, and even a case of Gatorade. The students then loaded the boxes into police cruisers, where local law enforcement officers personally delivered the meals to families just in time for Christmas.

This effort was made possible through generous donations and partnerships with Pepsi of Corbin, Grace Health, and Walmart, along with the support of the Kentucky State Police, Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, Whitley County Sheriff’s Office, Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Corbin Police Department, and Williamsburg Police Department.

We are incredibly proud of our students for demonstrating leadership, service, and compassion in action. This is what community partnership and giving back truly look like. ❤️ 👏

🚗🔧 Career Exploration at Nashville Auto-Diesel College

Twenty-nine students from Corbin Area Technology Center recently visited the Nashville Auto-Diesel College for an engaging and educational field trip. During their visit, students explored a variety of career paths within the automotive and diesel industries, interacted with instructors, and participated in hands-on demonstrations using state-of-the-art equipment and virtual training simulators.

This experience provided valuable insight into postsecondary opportunities and helped students connect classroom learning to real-world careers in the skilled trades.
