The 2026 Legislative Session has officially ended, and our priority remained clear: affordability for Georgians. By fast-tracking targeted tax relief and cutting government waste, Senate Republicans are ensuring more of your hard-earned money stays exactly where it belongs—in your pocket. Whether it’s at the grocery store or the gas pump, we know every dollar counts. This session wasn’t about just passing bills; we’re providing real, tangible relief to taxpayers across the state.

As the 2026 legislative session comes to a close, I’m proud to highlight the accomplishments Senate Republicans delivered for Georgians. We advanced meaningful legislation focused on the issues that matter most: lowering the cost of living, enhancing quality of life, and protecting the next generation. Thank you for the opportunity to serve Georgia's 13th District.

See below a list of our priorities passed ⬇️

✅The Cost of Living:

SB 382: Protects homeowners from skyrocketing property tax increases.

SB447: Implements a shot clock on local permit processing.

SB 463: Limits corporate investor ownership of single-family homes in Georgia.

SB 476: Largest proposed income tax cut in state history, eliminating the state income tax for the first $50,000 earned by a single filer and $100,000 for joint filers.

SB 477: Accelerates the income tax cut schedule to reach 3.99% in 2028 if revenue requirements are met.

Amended Budget: Nearly $2 billion in income tax refund and property tax rebates.

2027 Budget: Invests a historic $70 million for literacy coaches statewide, strengthens our state employee retirement system to protect the livelihoods of those dedicated to serving our state, provides funding for public safety, supports mental health and foster care services, and continues to protect our state’s God-given natural landscape.

✅Quality of Life:

SB160: Crack down on repeat reckless stunt drivers.

SB268: New criminal offense for interfering with a first responder.

SB478: Strengthens The Georgia Outdoor Stewardship Program.

✅Protecting the Next Generation:

We are now five weeks into the 2026 Legislative Session, and we’re doing the real work that makes a difference for Georgia families. Last week, the Senate passed a historic victory — the largest state income tax cut in Georgia history, putting more of your hard-earned money back where it belongs: in your pocket.

We also advanced meaningful property tax relief, passed legislation that protects children from puberty blockers, strengthened support for foster care children, and reaffirmed our commitment to investing in Georgia’s public schools.

Our focus remains clear: delivering real results for hardworking Georgians and keeping the American Dream within reach for every family.

I’m proud of the progress we’re making, grateful for the privilege of serving you, and committed to continuing the fight for policies that strengthen our communities and secure Georgia’s future.

As Chairman of the Senate Banking Committee, I was honored to represent the committee at last week’s Georgia Bankers Association Legislative Reception. It’s always a pleasure to reconnect with former colleagues and discuss the future of banking in Georgia.
