Back-to-School Safety Alert from Cordele Police Chief Jalon Heard: "As students head back to school, our top priority is their safety. As always, expect an increase in traffic in and around school zones. Remember to obey speed limits, watch out for children crossing the street, and be cautious on the roads. Teach your kids about stranger danger and the importance of not talking to or accepting rides from strangers. Also, discuss with students the importance of online safety, including not sharing personal information and being careful of online interactions. Let's work together to ensure a safe and successful school year for all!"
