🇺🇸 Celebrating Our Young Patriots! 🇺🇸

The VFW is proud to support youth across our community through two national scholarship programs that encourage students to reflect on patriotism, service, and their role in our country’s future.

✏️ Patriot’s Pen Essay Contest
This contest is open to middle school students (grades 5-8) and asks students to write a 300–400 word essay based on a patriotic theme chosen by the VFW each year. It encourages young Americans to explore what patriotism means and how they can support and serve their country.

🎙 Voice of Democracy Scholarship Program
Open to high school students (grades 9–12), this program asks students to write and record a 3–5 minute audio essay expressing their views on democracy and patriotism. It is the VFW’s premier scholarship program and awards millions of dollars in scholarships each year.
