Friday, June 19th is our Sharks in the Park day!! Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium in Dubuque will be here with their shark touch tank. Goodie bags, raffle prizes and lunch is provided by the Cordova Park District. If you are interested in lunch, call the library at 654-2330 to sign up.

Cordova Then and Now...Cordova Dragway Park
Cordova Dragway Park was built in 1955 by Bob Bartel and racing began in 1956. The facility was one of the first drag strips built for the purpose of racing only. It cost $60,000 to build the 4,000-foot long asphalt drag strip. Bob brought the World Series of Drag Racing there in 1957. For years, the nations biggest drag racers have attended the World Series including "Bid Daddy" Don Garlits, "TV" Tommy Ivo, and Shirley Muldowney.

Legacy Dogs - Quad Cities joined us for Story Time today at the park! We had a great time reading stories, dancing and playing. Join us next Friday, June 19th at 10am for our Story Time at the Park. At 11am, Sharks will be in the park!!

Wow--another amazing week!! Thanks to the Village of Cordova, 81 kids got 206 lunches!! Thank you to the volunteers that make this happen.

Last Monday, our teens got to go fishing! It was a bit windy, but they were successful in catching fish. Check out our other awesome programs for teens at www.cordovalibrary.com.

Paint the Road was AMAZING yesterday! Thank you to our community for coming out to support us. Thanks to the Village of Cordova, Cordova Fire Protection District, Library Board, Pulse 84 and our volunteers. Come down to Main Avenue and check out the new artwork!

Cordova Then and Now...Paint the Road
Today is our annual Paint the Road, so we are looking back out our 2018 Paint the Road. The fun starts at 11am today.

Story Time today was moved inside because of the weather. We read silly books, did our rhythm sticks and danced! Join us next Friday, June 12th at 10am at the Civic Center Park. We will have therapy dogs with us too!!
