Cordova Fire & Rescue would like to congratulate Breanna Hodge and Brett Dawkins. They recently graduated an Advanced EMT class with Regional Training Institute. They have passed their National Registry testing and are now state Licensed Advanced EMTs. This increases our licensed medical providers in the department providing more resources that our department provides to our community.

We have received word from Santa Claus that he will be riding through Cordova starting early Saturday Morning 12/20/25 starting around 8am.

Cordova Fire & Rescue has been asked to take Santa throughout the city with the help of the fire trucks to check his list one more time before Christmas.

We will be visiting as many neighborhoods and streets as possible Listen up for the sirens and look for the flashing lights so you know Santa is close! We will cover all the roads we can till Santa has to return.

It’s that time of year again. Cordova Fire and Rescue’s Trunk A Treat. If you , your business, or your church organization would like to participate with a trunk, we would love to have you. We will be at Indian Head Mills Park again this year. Our time will be 4pm to 6pm. Set up time will start at 3pm. We do ask that if you have a trunk that you are prepared to stay until the event is over since there is heavy foot traffic and children running and playing. If for some reason there is an emergency and you do need to leave prior to the end of the event, you may get with one of our firefighters and we will do our best to make provisions to get you out. Also we ask that if your organization wants to hand out food items that you make sure it is a small snack item such as popcorn, cupcakes etc. since there will be food trucks on site. We appreciate each and every one of you who participate in our event and helping us provide a safe and fun environment for our communities children. Cordova Fire Department recently completed teaching a Firefighter 160 training class through the Alabama Fire College. We had 9 firefighters complete this training over the last 8 months. These firefighters represented Cordova VFD, Oakman VFD, and Saragossa VFD, some of these members also volunteer with Barney VFD and McCollum Midway VFD. We want to thank all of those who helped teach during this class. This is a big accomplishment that took a lot of dedication to complete the 160 hours of required training. Congratulations - Adam Busby, Ashley Calloway, Richard Finke, Breanna Hodge, Justin Hodge, Kyle Jenkins, Brittany Pate, Cody Robertson, and Drake Romine.

There was a bag turned in that was found at the park behind the police department Please call the office or stop by the lobby to claim. Correct identification of the bag and contents will be necessary to claim!

UPDATE: This closure will be postponed for one week due to weather concerns next week.

⚠️ Heads Up ⚠️

There will be road closures in effect beginning this coming Tuesday for one week. The dates for this closure are from Tuesday, May 27th until Tuesday, June 3rd.

These road closures are necessary for construction work to be done at the site of the new Cordova Elementary School.

Please use caution as you navigate the area. If you live within this particular area, you may notice an increased traffic flow from the detours.
