Peddler/Solicitor in Town
Just an FYI, There is a young man named Noah who has obtained a peddlers license from the Town of Pembroke. He is selling educational material for Southwestern Advantage. Southwestern Advantage has been selling educational material in Town during the summer for over 20 years. If Noah comes to your house and you aren't interested, just politely tell him no and ask him to leave.
We do maintain a "Do not knock" registry that we distribute to peddlers when they obtain a license.

Water District Updates 7/24/2026

Water District 4:
The Low Bids received by the town were low enough to move Water District 4 towards the construction phase. The town has some minor paperwork items to finalize with USDA-RD and the NYS Comptroller, but we can hopefully start construction in the fall. Two different contractors were the low bidders on the Eastern (east of Rte. 77) and Western (west of Rte. 77) portions of Water District 4. This should allow both areas to be under construction simultaneously.

Water District 5:
The Town’s WIIA Grant application for Water District 5 has been submitted to NYS EFC. I’m optimistic we’ll receive this as we have verifiable construction numbers now. The Low Bidder on Water District 5 has agreed to hold their price while we secure this additional funding. Well tests were performed on approximately 21 homes. Thank you to everyone who participated. Approximately 25% of wells tested showed some issues, which will help us score higher on the WIIA Grant. The WIIA Grant awards are announced by EFC in November.

The Town of Pembroke Highway Department will start milling shoulders on Cleveland Road beginning Thursday July 9th. If you live on Cleveland and your mailbox is removed for this project please note that the Town will be reinstalling it.

Water District Updates 6/15/2026

Water District 4:
The Town has received approval from USDA Rural Development to proceed to the Bid Phase for Water District 4. Bid Advertisements will be in the Batavia Daily News and online starting Tuesday June 16th. The Bid Opening is planned for 10:00 am, Thursday July 16th at Town Hall. This meeting is open to the public. If Bids come in at or under the funding the Town has secured, The Town Board could award contracts at the July 23rd Town Board Meeting.

Water District 5:
The Town is in again the process of applying for a WIIA Grant from NYS Environmental Facilities Corporation (EFC) for Water District 5. This Grant will offset the current shortfall in funding. As part of the grant application the EFC has asked the Town to provide pre-filtration well water samples from at least 15 locations throughout Water District 5. These samples can strengthen the Towns Grant Application. A letter will be going out shortly to all residents in Water District 5 (Pratt Road, Kilian Road and Slusser Road South of the Thruway). The Genesee County Health Department will be conducting the sampling. If you’re interested in providing a sample, please provide your contact information to the Town Clerk ([email protected]) or Town Supervisor ([email protected]) and we will pass it along to the Health Department who will be in contact with you.

NOTICE OF MEETING

A meeting of the Town of Pembroke Board of Assessment Review is scheduled for Monday, June 15th, 2026. The meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the Pembroke Town Hall, 1145 Main Road, Corfu, New York 14036.
