Remembering Summer Dunn

Remembering Summer Dunn A Loving and Caring Child of God Summer is the daughter of Mike & Rhonda Dunn. She was a very sick little girl and spent over 2 weeks in the
hospital.

She is 5 years old and full of smiles,
laughter and all girl. 2 1/2 years ago Summer got a type of fungal infection that
affected her lungs. When she was able to go home it was with some very strong medicine. After a few months and finishing the mecine, Summer imporved and thrived. She
started kindergarden this past year and loved being in school with her friends. On Wednesday, May 22nd, Summer

started showing similar symptoms again,
including high fever and a veryhard time breathing. Rhonda took her straight to
the ER where they admitted her right away and put her on oxygen to help her
breath better. In the time she has been there, she has not imporved. In fact,
just the opposite. She is no longer breathing on her own and they have done a few
procedures and many tests trying to pinpoint exactly what is wrong. We are asking for everyone to PRAY for her, including her parents, grandparents and
the doctors to have wisdom in dealing with the situation at hand. A group of us have
committed to stop and pray everyday at noon for her. We would love to have anyone
who wants to, to join us in prayer each day.

Happy 17th birthday in heaven!! We love and miss you every day! ❤️💔🌷

Happy Birthday in Heaven my angel. 😇 Today is your sweet 16. Every day I wonder how tall you would be, how smart, and how beautiful you would be. I know you would be chomping at the bit to go get your permit so you could drive.
I am so thankful that God allowed me to be your momma. I will forever miss you and love you more than the stars in the sky. ❤️🎂🎄

As I came across this picture of Summer, this was the last summer that we worked at camp.
When she earned her heavenly wings, nine years ago, Cincinnati children’s sent me her last and final bead. I know some of y’all may not know that for every procedure that she had done she earned a bead that tells a story of her journey, and what all she went through. “Beads of Courage”
The bead that was sent was a big, beautiful glass butterfly.
For as long as I can remember, Summer would always have butterflies land on her hands.
For some reason this morning, I felt like looking up why a butterfly would be used as a symbol for the passing of someone.
I came across the picture below, “Butterflies appear when Angels are near.”
I started crying because that’s why butterflies would land on her all the time!! She was an Angel!!
Thank you Lord for allowing is to have her for a short time. So thankful for heaven.
For some reason the tears I’m shedding are sad because I miss her SO much, but at the same time my heart is calmed at the same time.

~The metamorphosis of butterflies is symbolically associated with radical changes in human lives, with death perceived as a possibility for renewal. Therefore the breaking of the cocoon is the death of the body, when the soul achieves freedom in the image of the butterfly.
