WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 5 PM TUESDAY TO 11 AM EST WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations
of 1 to 3 inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze.

* WHERE...Yates, Seneca, Southern Cayuga, Onondaga, Steuben,
Schuyler, Chemung, Tompkins, Cortland, Tioga and Broome
counties.

* WHEN...From 5 PM Tuesday to 11 AM EST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous
conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A period of snow moves into the area
Tuesday evening before likely changing over to a wintry mix of
rain, freezing rain, sleet and perhaps some lingering snow late
Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Temperatures will be in
the upper 20s to mid-30s through the event. The higher end snow
and ice totals will be found across the higher elevations.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Slow down and use caution while traveling.

PSA update on Gibson Bridge Closure:
We were notified by DOT that the Bridge will close at approximately 7 am Saturday 11/5 to complete necessary repairs during which time traffic will be detoured to I 86. Signs will be posted to alert motorists regarding detours . The Bridge is anticipated to reopen to traffic by 5 pm Sunday 11/6 .

PSA: For those that may not be aware, The Gibson Bridge will be closed this weekend Saturday November 5th and Sunday November 6th. Signs are posted on State Rte 352 alerting motorists regarding detours . New York Department of Transportation has not made an official announcement as of yet of the closure . We will post updates as we get them.

On 10/20/22 @ 16:30 Gibson was activated along with AMR for the ambulance for a 2 vehicle MVA with possible entrapment. Chief 1901 arrived on scene @ 16:34 to confirm 2 vehicles with heavy damage. Chief 1901 requested Corning City for mutual aid .All units cleared @ 17:17 .
We would like to give a shout out to Corning City and AMR for their assistance.
