On July 27, 2026, officers with the Corning Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a female who was known to have an active felony warrant issued through the Arkansas Parole Board.
While officers were taking the suspect into custody, she allegedly threw a baggie containing a crystal-like substance underneath her vehicle. Officers recovered the baggie, and the substance field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
Ashley Lewis, 41, of Corning, was arrested and transported to the Clay County Detention Center. She was booked on the following charges:
* Possession of a Controlled Substance (Schedule I/II) – Less Than Two Grams (A.C.A. § 5-64-419)
* Tampering with Physical Evidence (A.C.A. § 5-53-111)
Clay County District Judge Curtis Hitt set Ms. Lewis’s bond at $25,000 cash or surety.
All suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
