The Scholarship Committee of the Library Board of Trustees is delighted to announce the recipients of the 2026 Nancy Doutt and The Friends of the Southeast Steuben County Library Scholarship. The scholarship is for those planning on attending a college, university, institute, certificate program, vocational or trade school in a post-secondary course of study in the fall of 2026.

The first recipient is Keisha Karemba. She recently moved to Corning with her parents, from Zimbabwe. She received her GED, and she’s finished her first year at CCC; she’ll be returning for her second year at CCC in the fall, focusing on psychology. She also works as a social companion for the elderly in our community. The committee loved her enthusiasm and her dedication to learning.

The second recipient is Everal Adler-Gribble. He’s a senior at C-PPHS and will be attending Stony Brook University with a focus on biology. He’s been training as an EMT in Corning. The committee admired his emphasis on getting an education; after a move to Florida, he realized that C-PPHS offered him better opportunities, so he returned even though that involved some hardships for him.

Congratulations to both of this year's scholarship recipients.
And thank you to everyone who applied. We wish everyone success in their studies and future careers.
