Rural fire protection forms will be going out next week. These are due by May 15, 2024! $25 per house or building you want protected on your property. If we have a service call to your address in our rural areas, the $25 fee per house or building covers your address! If you only pay for a house, and a shop building is the service call, then you will still be billed the service call which is $500. Some of you may have already signed up through city hall for the 2024 year, and if you have then you will still get a form in the mail. I know I have received a couple this year even though the forms haven’t been sent out yet!

*****IMPORTANT INFO*****IMPORTANT INFO*****

If you live at a residence in which you have moved and the city of Corning sends you a letter addressed to previous owners or renters, the letter from the city is for the current resident….if you disregard the letter, and we have a service call to that address, a bill for $500 will be sent for that service call. It is up to you to sign up either with the letter addressed to previous owner or to come to city hall and get a rural fire protection form filled out and paid for the year! Thanks

The Corning Fire Department would like to thank Philip Posey of Emergency Vehicle Specialists (EVS) based out of Conway, Ar for letting the department test out some top-of-the-line battery operated Holmatro extrication equipment. This equipment is used to cut trapped victims out of vehicles that have been involved in vehicle accidents. In attendance were members of the Corning Fire Department, Biggers-Reyno Fire Department, and Corning City Council. Pictured is Fire Chief Danny Curtis and Firefighter Jason Liles of the Corning Fire Department.

The Corning Volunteer Fire Department wants the Piggott Police Department, the city of Piggott, and the Carter family and friends to know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers this morning!!

*****Due to serious dry conditions, it is advisable to not be burning at this time. We are not under a ban, however burning in conditions like this are extremely reckless and light wind can push fires really fast. If you must light a fire before a considerable rain, please stay with the fire until it is completely out. Also if you are going to shoot fireworks, please watch out for fires made from the embers!! Thanks for your understanding and cooperation!!*****
