Miller High School Students Explore the Great Outdoors in Nature Class

Students in Mr. Stephens' Nature class at Miller High School have been taking their learning beyond the classroom walls and into the great outdoors.

Throughout the fall season, students have enjoyed hands-on learning experiences while exploring the woods, observing seasonal changes, and discovering the plants and wildlife found in their surroundings. From examining fall mushrooms and spiders to learning more about local ecosystems, students have had the opportunity to experience nature firsthand.

One of the highlights of the class was a fort-building competition, where students put their creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills to the test. The activity encouraged students to work together while using natural materials and their surroundings to construct their forts.

Students have also been using a trail camera to observe local wildlife, capturing an exciting image of a coyote roaming through the area. This experience provides students with a unique opportunity to learn about the animals that share their local environment.

These outdoor activities allow students to develop a greater appreciation for nature while building important skills through exploration, observation, and teamwork.

Miller High School appreciates Mr. Stephens' dedication to providing engaging, hands-on educational opportunities that encourage students to explore, discover, and learn beyond the traditional classroom setting.

At Miller High School, learning doesn't always happen inside four walls. Sometimes, the best classroom is the great outdoors!

A representative from Ohio University will be joining us to explain the financial aid process, answer questions, and help families better understand the steps involved in paying for college.

This is a great opportunity for students and families to learn more about financial aid, FAFSA, grants, scholarships, and other resources available to help make college more affordable.

We encourage all interested students and families to attend and bring your questions!

Miller High School would like to extend a special THANK YOU to Gary Atkins from Muskingum University for taking the time to visit with our students!

During his visit, Mr. Atkins shared valuable information about the academic programs, campus life, admissions process, and opportunities available at Muskingum University. Students had the chance to ask questions, explore their college options, and learn more about what it takes to prepare for the next chapter of their educational journey.

Cleveland State University has just announced an exciting new opportunity for Ohio students!

Beginning in FALL 2027, the new Cleveland State Commitment program will provide FREE TUITION to qualifying incoming freshmen! 🎉

🎓 WHO QUALIFIES?

✅ Class of 2027: Must graduate from high school in spring 2027.

✅ GPA: Must have a high school GPA of 3.0 or higher.

✅ Household Income: Family adjusted gross income (AGI) must be $125,000 or less annually.

✅ Ohio Residency: Must meet Ohio residency requirements.

✅ Enrollment: Must enroll as a full-time, degree-seeking student at Cleveland State University.

✅ FAFSA: Complete the FAFSA by February 15, 2027, for priority consideration.

🎓 Remaining tuition and mandatory fees after eligible grants and scholarships are applied.

Miller High School would like to extend a special THANK YOU to U.S. Navy Recruiter for visiting with our students during Working Wednesday!

Students had the opportunity to explore the many career paths available through the U.S. Navy, with a special emphasis on nuclear technology and nuclear-related careers. ⚛️

The Recruiter shared valuable information about specialized training, educational benefits, career advancement, and how skills developed through Navy service can lead to exciting opportunities both in the military and civilian workforce.

🌟 Working Wednesday is all about opening doors, exploring possibilities, and helping our Falcons discover pathways to successful futures!
