The Northeastern Conference Adventist Community Services Center is a religious, non-profit organization which serves as the humanitarian arm of the Northeastern Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. The Center, was established in 1968 as a welfare office that provided relief to those in need of emergency assistance (food, clothing, furniture and housing, etc.) After closing for a short period of r

econstruction, on June 17, 2013 the Northeastern Conference reopened the doors of the center and the people of the community and its environs are elated. Our vision is to broaden our scope to community services, build collaborative partnership and create healthier families and communities. Our partnerships are: Food Bank for New York City, MRS Baking Distributors, New York Cares, Queens Center for Progresss, Renacer Hispanic SDA Church and Trader Joe's Store. Our services are: Food pantry, clothing distribution, Disaster Response, Health Services, and Community Development. Food Pantry: provides food to the unemployed, low income earners, undocumented and disadvantaged (Tuesdays). We also provide career clothing for individuals entering or re-entering the workforce. Disaster Response: provides relief supplies to our clients affected by natural disasters and unforeseen tragedies, including counseling and/or referrals. Health Services: provides our clients with free health screenings (blood pressure & cholesterol screenings, waist circumference, BMI and body fat testing, etc.); health workshops and nutritional counseling. Community Development: provides opportunities and equip our community members with the necessary skills to become contributors to society.
