SGOT Sailors came together for an MWR Summer Bash filled with food, fun, and camaraderie.

From grilling and games to a fiery hot wing challenge, Sailors and families enjoyed a well-deserved break to celebrate the summer and strengthen our bonds as a command!

Last week, SGOT and FWC came together in remembrance of September 11th. With unity, respect, and reflection, we honored the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the resilience of our nation. Standing side by side, we remembered not only the tragedy, but also the strength and sacrifice that emerged in its wake. Much appreciation to the planning and preparation from our Sailors to make this moving ceremony happen.

SGOT Sailors headed to the Mid-West this week for Navy Week in Branson/Springfield, MO! Navy Week focuses on bringing Sailors from all different communities to inland cities to educate the public on what all we do! Our Sailors worked at the Wonders of Wildlife Aquarium, assisted elementary school classes with indoor and outdoor lessons, shadowed zookeepers at Dickerson Park, worked in the community garden, and much more!

The SGOT-SD Sailor in the Spotlight for July is AGAN Sean “Sally” Salvador!

From Wichita Falls, TX, AGAN Salvador is an analyst onboard the USS NIMITZ (CVN-68)! During this deployment, AGAN stated the highlight has been their port call in Guam and getting qualified!

Outside of work, he enjoys video games and hanging out with friends in San Diego. He is most looking forward to getting his Information Warfare pin and is working hard to move quickly up the ranks!

Today SGOT and Fleet Weather Center San Diego celebrated the 101st birthday of the AG rate in the Navy!

In 1924, the Navy's first AGs collected and analyzed weather data, interpreted atmospheric patterns, and provided timely and accurate forecasts to plan naval operations. Today, our AGs around the globe are continuing to adapt to technologies that keep them at the forefront of scientific expertise.

The SGOT-SD Sailor in the Spotlight for June 2025 is YN2 Daniel Kendall!

From Salt Lake City, Utah, YN2 Kendall is the Command Yeoman! He performs all of the administrative and clerical duties for SGOT. Additionally, he serves as the MWR secretary and the Motorcycle Safety Coordinator.

In his off time, YN2 enjoys working on and driving cars, off-roading, hiking, brewing beer and cider, and collecting vinyl records! YN2 says his favorite "keepsake" from his time in the Navy are the friendships he has made along the way. Wherever he goes, YN2 can be found cracking a joke or sharing a smile!

YN2 Kendall says he takes great pride in himself for joining the Navy. Since joining, YN2 says he has made a lot of progress towards his goals and is tremendously grateful and prideful of what the Navy has allowed him to accomplish so far.

YN2's hard work, helpfulness, and positivity don't go unnoticed here! BZ!
