A fun story about a sweet girl and our amazing Ambrose, who is looking for his FURever home:

We are visiting my sister, who lives in town with her husband and three kids. Maisy and her dad were walking by the bay and Maisy had her favorite stuffed animal turtle with her. We normally don't let the turtle leave the house, but she just wouldn't let go that day. Jake constantly checked that she still had Turtle in the stroller with her. Within the last 5 minutes of their walk, when they reached the car, he noticed turtle was gone. He immediately retraced their steps twice, but Turtle was gone. I (mom) went back to the bay during nap time and walked their path multiple times, going into all the stores and asking if anyone had seen Turtle. I received many weird looks and sympathetic glances, knowing how important this Turtle must be to my daughter.

Through my sister, I heard about a page called Coronado Happenings that might help get information out to the locals and ask for assistance. I sent her a picture of the turtle and asked if she would post on the page for me. I was desperate. That night Maisy asked for Turtle when going to sleep and both my husband's and my hearts broke in that moment.

The next day I received a text from my sister that said "OMG" and a screenshot from a local named Karen who said "I have your turtle and there is a fun story behind this."I immediately called her and she told me she was talking with a volunteer at Paws Coronado who said, "Ambrose brought back the cutest little turtle from his walk today." She went the next morning to make sure that Turtle was intact and said that Ambrose had it in his room with him all night, protecting it, and there was no damage!

We drove over and met Karen to pick-up Turtle and Maisy looked at her like she was an angel on earth. To my husband, Maisy, and me, she is! Maisy hasn't let go of Turtle since, except when we leave the house, because Turtle is now housebound! We did make an exception when she went to meet her hero, Ambrose, the dog that saved and protected her turtle. She brought along a toy for Ambrose, as a Thank You!"

We love Ambrose!
And if we could, we would bring this sweet, protective, cuddly dog home with us. We sure hope someone adopts him soon!

As the weather warms up, remember this!

☀️ Summer adventures are better when everyone stays safe—including our pets! 🐾

Longer days mean more walks, beach trips, and outdoor fun, but it’s important to remember that our pets can overheat much faster than we do.

💧 Bring plenty of fresh water
🌳 Take breaks in the shade
🐶 Watch for signs of overheating
🚶 Plan outdoor activities during cooler parts of the day

A little preparation goes a long way toward keeping tails wagging all summer long! ❤️
