✨ Feel Good Friday! ✨

Students at Foy H Moody High School and W.B. Ray High School were raving about their new cafeteria tables and the fresh, more welcoming environment they've created!

Our teams worked diligently yesterday afternoon to remove the old tables and get the new ones in place so students could experience the upgraded cafeteria when they came in for lunch today.

And we absolutely loved seeing the looks on their faces as they walked in and saw the new tables! 🥰

It may seem like a simple change, but creating a space where students feel comfortable and excited to enjoy their meals makes a big difference. A huge thank-you to our teams for making it happen! 👏

🍗🧀 Taste Testing = SUCCESS! 🎉

We recently visited Solomon Coles High School & Harold T. Branch Academy for Career and Technical Education to let our students be the taste-testers for some NEW potential lunch menu items! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

On the menu?
🍗 Garlic Parmesan Wings
🧀🍝 Cheesy Chicken Pasta

And the verdict is in… BOTH WERE A HIT! 🙌🎉

We love giving our students a voice in what makes it onto their lunch menus, and their feedback helps us bring more variety and exciting choices to the cafeteria!

We’re looking forward to adding these student-approved favorites to the menu! 💙🍎

We’re ending the week with a student favorite! Wings were served at all of our middle and high schools today, with three delicious options to choose from: Plain, Hot, or BBQ! 🔥🍖

We love giving our students choices and serving up meals they’re excited to enjoy!

And our amazing Food Service teams were BUSY! 💪

📊 Over 28,000 meals served today between breakfast and lunch! 🤯👏

That’s more than 28,000 opportunities to fuel our students, support learning, and make sure they have the energy they need to take on the school day.

Corpus Christi ISD continues Community Eligibility Program for 2026-2027 school year

Corpus Christi ISD is pleased to announce that it will continue providing free breakfast and lunch to all students for the upcoming school year. Schools qualifying to operate the Community Eligibility Provision provide breakfast and lunch to all enrolled students at no charge.

“We are pleased to continue offering free breakfast and lunch to all CCISD students,” said Superintendent Dr. Roland Hernandez. “This program helps ensure every student starts the school day ready to learn and succeed.”

The free meals program is made possible through the Texas Department of Agriculture via the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

CCISD has been providing free breakfast and lunch since 2018. During the 2025-2026 school year, CCISD served over 6 million free breakfast, lunch, Saturday and supper meals.

Parents and guardians do not need to complete a free or reduced-price meal application. However, they should still complete the district income survey as part of the online registration process. This information helps CCISD qualify for grants, funding and other programs that benefit students.

🎉 Congratulations to Lauren Munguia on her nomination for Corpus Christi Under 40! 🎉

We are proud to recognize Lauren, our Assistant Director of Finance and Compliance, for this well-deserved honor.

For the past 12 years, Lauren has been an integral part of CCISD Food Services, growing from a bookkeeper to a key member of our leadership team. Her expertise in finance, compliance, technology, and operations helps ensure that thousands of students across our district receive nutritious, high-quality meals every day.

Lauren's impact can be seen throughout our department. She led the implementation of a new software system across all 55 campuses, oversees district-wide budgeting and compliance efforts, and provides leadership to teams responsible for bookkeeping, procurement, payroll, technology, and administrative operations. Her commitment to excellence, attention to detail, and dedication to serving students have helped strengthen our program and support the success of our schools.

Beyond her daily responsibilities, Lauren is actively involved in professional development through the Texas Association for School Nutrition and our local school food service association, helping create opportunities for others to learn and grow.

Recently recognized with the district's Above the Line Award, Lauren continues to exemplify leadership, integrity, and service in everything she does.
