Corpus Christi MPO The MPO membership is made up of locally elected officials of the cities and counties within the urbanized area.

The Corpus Christi Metropolitan Planning Organization is the MPO for the Corpus Christi Study Area, which covers portions of Nueces and San Patricio counties along the south Texas coastal bend. Other appointed officials include the Chairperson of the Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority (CCRTA) Board, the Chairperson of the Port of Corpus Christi Authority (PCCA) Board, and the District Engineer of the Texas Department of TransportationMPO's have no authority to raise revenues such as to levy taxes on their own, rather, they are designed to allow local officials to decide collaboratively how to spend available federal and other governmental transportation funds in their urbanized areas. The funding for the operations of an MPO comes from a combination of federal transportation funds and required matching funds from state and local governments.
