This is why I doubt I'll ever have the opportunity to vote Democratic - they're always the ones pushing for more taxes then turning around and demanding that money be used to raise their wages in some way.

A.) The United States of America is NOT a business - you are NOT a board of directors. You are a public SERVANT - a REPRESENTATIVE of the people. How many of the people you represent live in hiltons and how many live in slums like the ones around DC?

Congress complaining about Sequester - as if the rest of the country hasn't been affected for over 6 years by this economy they've created.. “I don’t think we should do it; I think we should respect the work we do,” ... “I think it’s necessary for us to have the dignity of the job that we have rewarded.” -Nancy Pelosi

The President made $400k last year on top of his pension as a senator on top of an untaxed unlimited expense account. Congressmen/Women and Senators made $174k last year on top of pensions and benefits from previous positions and untaxed expense accounts for everything from hair cuts to vacations.

Meanwhile a soldier laying down his life and serving perfectly for 20 years only made $66,326 and Senior citizens only received $14k from social security.

Will Barack Obama, Gary Johnson, Jill Stein or Mitt Romney be the first candidate to pledge:

"Before I raise or call for any new taxes.
Before you deprive my veteran heroes of their benefits.
Before I tell those in need they can no longer receive the assistance they rely on:

I Will Cut First My Own Pay."

Encourage them and the others seeking to be our leaders, regardless of political affiliation or positions, to Lead By Example.

I'm sure some of you have seen the stats comparing a CEO's wages to minimum and median wage workers. As atrocious as this may seem - before we further divide ourselves against each other - let's examine the situation.

Assume all three work 40hrs per week (2080 hours per year)

Min. Wg.: 15,080.00/yr
Med. Wg.: 34,465.60/yr
CEO: 41,932,800.00/yr

Minus Income Taxes (Federal-only Single):

Min. Wg.: 15,080.00 - 1,836 = 13,244 (/2080 = 6.36/hr actual wages)
Med. Wg.: 34,465.60 - 4,746 = 29,719 (/2080 = 14.28/hr)
CEO: 41,932,800.00 - 14,653,794 = 27,279,006 (/2080 = 13,114/hr)

Gallon of Milk = 3.70 + .32 tax = 4.02
1/4 Gallon Gas to Grocery Store = .85 (3.411 * .25) + .12 (.495 * .25) tax = .97

Total for Gallon of Milk = 4.99

Time Taken to Buy Gallon Milk:

Min Wg: 35 Minutes
Med Wg: 26 Minutes
CEO: .02 seconds

Since time is the most valuable thing here - let's do the complete math.

Time taken to pay taxes:
Min Wg: 44 Days (1 Month 2 Weeks of slave Labor)
Med Wg: 51 Days (1 Month 3 weeks of slave Labor)
CEO: 128 Days (4 Months 2 weeks of slave labor)

So, before you turn on the super-wealthy perhaps you should consider - in the case of the many who have become so by government action and for the sake of the many who have become so through their own hard work - the wages of those who impose these taxes, control where your hard-earned dollars go and decides whether your family needs assistance in difficult times.

Before ANYTHING else - any taxes, any cuts: ANY MORE DIVISION - is considered we should DEMAND of Congress and the President:

President Obama promised the Healthcare Law would not be a tax and would actually result in a stimulus of the economy.

While it is yet to be seen what effects on the economy it would have - the bill doesn't go into full effect until 2014 - the Supreme Court recently declared the bill lawful and stated the fine was a tax.

The President makes over $400,000/yr - has he kept all of his promises, is the economy stronger under his leadership: has he earned this amount? Or should he lead by example and cut his own pay before considering calling for any new taxes or cuts?

Despite the House Republican leadership’s promise to reduce spending once they took control in January 2011, spending since has gone nowhere but up.

Are they considering cutting their own pay to cover the expense of this or will they cut and tax more away from you?
