SBA Administrator Isabella Casillas Guzman just announced the U.S. Small Business Administration will begin registrations on Friday, April 30, 2021, at 9 a.m. EDT and open applications on Monday, May 3, 2021, at noon EDT for the Restaurant Revitalization Fund. The online application will remain open to any eligible establishment until all funds are exhausted.

For the first 21 days that the program is open, the SBA will prioritize funding applications from businesses owned and controlled by women, veterans, and socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. Even if you do not fit in one of these groups, you need to submit your applications as soon as the portal opens. Following the 21 days, all eligible applications will be funded on a first-come, first-served basis.

In preparation, the SBA recommends qualifying applicants familiarize themselves with the application process in advance to ensure a smooth and efficient application experience, specifically by:

Registering for an account in advance at restaurants.sba.gov starting Friday, April 30, 2021, at 9 a.m. EDT.
Reviewing the official guidance, including program guide, frequently asked questions, and application sample.
Preparing the required documentation.
Working with a point-of-sale vendor or visiting restaurants.sba.gov to submit an application when the application portal opens. [Note: If an applicant is working with a point-of-sale vendor, they do not need to register beforehand on the site.]

Brenda McKenna for Senate District 9

It has been an honor to serve the constituents of District 9 for the past 12 years, but that has now come to an end. While we were able to make significant changes to Early Childhood Education, making sure big corporations paid their fair share of taxes, and improve infrastructure across district 9; I know that our new state Senator will do the same and even more. I am going to be changing this page as soon as possible but I encourage all of you to follow Senator McKenna and learn more about her journey for all of us in district 9. Happy New Year to all and thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve as your state senator for the past 12 years.

My name is Brenda Grace Agoyothé McKenna. I’m from Nanbé Pueblo and I am running as a Democrat for Senate District 9.

Retake Our Democracy

Retake Our Democracy has put out a survey asking voters from across the state to help them decide what are legislative priorities. I encourage all of the followers of my page to take a few minutes to fill it out and help develop a strong legislative agenda for the upcoming 2021 Legislative Session. During my time in the legislature I found these surveys to be helpful and insightful to the needs of constituents from across the state.

"We have an amazing opportunity in the 2021 NM State Legislative session. Over the last three elections many legislators who had been impediments to progress are no longer at the Roundhouse. We have an opportunity to decriminalize abortion, legalize marijuana, pass the Health Security Act, create a State Public Bank, reform our tax and revenue systems and expand support to our essential workers.

Retake Our Democracy has published its 2021 Legislative Priorities survey. It asks for your priorities in relation to 15 bills it has identified as being Transformational to the state of NM. We will use responses to prioritize our advocacy and to inform legislators as to the priorities of their constituents. The survey will take but five to ten minutes to complete. Please take the survey by clicking below and then share the link in social media and with others you feel may want to Raise Their Voice." https://retakeourdemocracy.org/2021-legislative-priorities-survey/

New Mexico, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. This pandemic will end. But we have to hang on, together, for a while longer.

Please continue to do everything you can to slow the spread. There is hope. We can and will protect one another and get through this.

Congratulations to all the talented students of Harrison Schmitt Elementary in Silver City whose artwork was selected to adorn White House Christmas trees in Washington, D.C. this year. The children’s art was chosen to represent New Mexico in the annual America Creates ornament display, and we are very proud. Thank you also to their committed and imaginative educators – nothing happens without you. We are grateful! Read more: https://bit.ly/2VZS70P

🚨 🚨***ATTENTION HD15 RESIDENTS***🚨🚨

Overnight in Lee Acres, several ballots were taken directly from residents’ mailboxes, destroyed, and left on the street. This is extremely disturbing and offensive, let alone a federal crime that has been happening in various areas around Albuquerque. If any HD15 residents were affected by this, please contact the Bernalillo County Clerk's Office or Office of the New Mexico Secretary of State immediately to ask for assistance getting a replacement ballot. They are aware of the situation.

Anybody with any information that may be useful in prosecuting this crime should contact Albuquerque Police Department or the FBI. Please share and spread the word to avoid further impact of these crimes.
