Trumbull SWCD is a local, state, and federal partnership. The Trumbull district was formed in the late 1940's by a referendum vote by over 70% of the electorate. We receive appropriations from Trumbull County, Townships, and Municipalities with the State of Ohio matching the local government funds. The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), and the Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA)
also provide additional resource assistance. Five residents of the County are elected in staggered three year terms to serve as volunteer Supervisors. The Board of Supervisors hold monthly public meetings where they receive input, approve the District financials, and review the programs and events that staff will conduct throughout the year. PURPOSE
The Trumbull Soil and Water Conservation District (Trumbull SWCD or the “District”) maintains Facebook sites for the sole purpose of disseminating information to the public in a timely manner. The sites are limited public forums maintained by District personnel. The sites are not monitored continually and should not be used for official correspondence to District personnel or District Board of Supervisors members. Since the District sites are not monitored continuously, it shall not be used to report any time sensitive issues, lodge official pollution abatement complaints, report any erosion and sediment control violations, or submit requests for assistance. Facebook users should contact the Trumbull SWCD office at 330-637-2056, opt. 3 or the specific District employee with whom they wish to correspond (a full list of contact information can be found at the Trumbull SWCD website www.swcd.co.trumbull.oh.us). Most comments will be reviewed for content and if found to be in violation of the CONTENT policy below, the comment will not be made available for general viewing. The following CONTENT policy will be enforced:
1. All participants providing personal comments should maintain respectful interaction on this page.
2. Content may be subject to being hidden or not available (may be deleted) if it contains:
• Personal attacks, profanity, and/or aggressive, threatening, or harassing behavior
• Partisan political views or views of a political organization including political action committees
• Discriminatory, racist, offensive, obscene, inflammatory, unlawful, or otherwise objectionable statements, language, or content
• Comments that are clearly off topic
• Comments that provide false or misleading information
• Content that advocates illegal activity
• Commercial endorsements
• Spam or including links to other sites
• Content that infringes on copyrights or trademarks
• Personal information about another person or that violates a person’s privacy
• Content that incites arguments
• Content that may otherwise be considered inappropriate or offensive in the sole opinion of the District
3. Information postings and corresponding communication for past events may be hidden after the event or when the information item is no longer relevant.
