This past week your Cortland Firefighters were privileged to award 3 Scholarships to
graduating seniors. Every year high school seniors are offered the opportunity to apply for The Stephen Zelsnack Jr scholarship honoring our brother who passed away following a traffic accident.

Stephen was our beloved family, friend and coworker.

This year we took the opportunity to award scholarship funds to the following students.

Faith Baker- Marathon Schools -pursuing Agricultural Studies.
Gabby Brown- Cortland Schools - pursuing Nursing
Lucas Friedman- McGraw Schools- pursuing Fire Protection

Tomorrow the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) and the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Local 2737 are proud to partner up again this year to raise critical funds to support research, care and advocacy for people living with neuromuscular diseases!

Over the past four years alone your local Cortland Professional Firefighters Association has raised over $28,000 in our annual Fill the Boot drive!

Last Thursday, Jacob was walking through Yaman Park when he spotted some firefighters at work. Curious as always, he stopped to ask what they were doing. They explained how they were pumping water from the river into their truck. On Jacob's second lap around the trail, something special happened: the firefighters recognized him and asked if he wanted to sit in the fire truck. Safe to say, it made his day!

Bald is temporary. Hope for kids with cancer is forever.

Today our team took part in St. Baldrick’s, and the clippers were busy! The before-and-after photos say a lot — but what they really represent is a group of people willing to give up a little hair to support kids who are fighting much bigger battles.

Each shaved head and every dollar donated creates a ripple effect of progress for children and their families. Your support helps fund lifesaving childhood cancer research through the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, the largest charity funder of childhood cancer research grants.

Thank you to everyone who supported our team this year — whether you shaved, donated, shared our fundraiser, showed up today, or cheered us on. Your support truly means a lot.

We are doing it again! For the 8th year in a row we'll be participating in the Annual St Baldricks fundraiser supporting childhood cancer research and treatment!

Your gift can create the next breakthrough for kids with cancer. Every child whose life is saved carries dreams, laughter, and joy into the world. Every parent who witnesses their child survive carries relief, love, and gratitude that can never be measured.

This Saturday, members of the CPFFA and some friends will be shaving their heads and raising money for this great cause.
