Today at Mosquito Creek Reservoir there was a bass tournament specifically for disabled veterans. Your Bazetta firefighters were up bright and early at 5:00 am to assist some of these heroes into boats with their fishing partners. Our personnel also came back when the tournament was over to help them get out of their respective boats. They are true heroes and we were honored to help them have a great day!

On May 8th and 9th, 2026, your Bazetta Firefighters attended a Thermal Imaging Camera class at Howland Fire Department.

Thermal Imaging Cameras (or TICs as we call them) are devices that allow firefighters to detect heat, fire, structural features and victim identification and rescue during fires and poorly lit environments.

The instructor for the class was Youngstown Fire Department Battalion Chief, John Lightly. This training focused on the uses and features of TICs. This was a valuable training for our personnel and we are grateful to Howland Fire Department and Chief Lightly for putting together this class.
