These are some difficult times that we are going through. Companies are shut down, millions of workers are unemployed and we are losing way too many people each day. All of us our pointing fingers at different people to blame, which is understandable but not helpful. To fight this we have to work with one another to help those that are the most vulnerable; most vulnerable being older individuals and those with preexisting conditions. Eventually, we will have to start opening up our economy as this shutdown is going to start harming us in other ways.
We have seen the governors from Oregon, Washington, and California start working on a way to start opening back up our states. Also, President Trump has been working on a way to start opening up our economy on a national level. Regardless of how you feel about opening up the economy, it is obvious that it will be opening up in the foreseeable future.
What can we do to keep this country running while keeping those most vulnerable safe? There are the more obvious things that we can do like wash our hands, not touching our face and not congregating in big groups. It is important to remember that when we do open back up our state to take precautions as the virus will still be out there. Another thing that we can start doing is wearing a mask when you go out to work or the grocery store.
There is a lot of confusion about whether or not to wear a mask in public. From what we have gathered it appears that wearing most masks will not prevent you from getting the virus but it will help prevent you from spreading it to others. This is very important because many of the people that get the virus are asymptomatic, meaning they don't show any symptoms.
We hope that everyone is doing well and we will try to keep you up to date on what is happening with our club. Feel free to ask us any questions about our club or let us know if you want to get involved with our club or help out with local elections.
