Some student loan forgiveness finally!!!! Up to $20k for Pell eligible students (10k if not Pell eligible) as long as you don't make too much. Another extension through December also. And income-based payments will be reduced! Learn more at 11:15am today!

The Biden administration on Friday issued what it says will be the final extension to a student loan moratorium that has allowed millions of Americans to put off debt payments during the pandemic. Under the action, payments on federal student loans will remain paused through Jan.

TRIO Course: UEXP 399/Career Preparations for TRIO Juniors/Seniors Winter Term 2021
FREE 1 Credit Course
Date: This Winter Term, Mondays
Instructor: Leela Magdaleno (TRIO Counselor)
This optional course is appropriate for TRIO students in their last or second-to-last year of school who want to learn more about how to prepare themselves for their career after college. It is a one-credit course and will be held Mondays from 2:00-2:50 via Zoom. The course will be free of charge and can be S/U. It is not too late to apply!
Here are some topics that will be covered in the course:
How much money you need to make.
The best way to search for jobs.
How to make your application stand out in a crowd.
Exceptional Interview Skills
Keys to true happiness and satisfaction in your career.
How to negotiate salary like a pro.

TRIO would like to invite you all to join us for our BAKING WITH TRIO event on WEDNESDAY, November 25th at 6pm where Doch and his special Guest will be baking not just one, but TWO special classic Mexican desserts live in the TRIO REMOTE LOUNGE (click link to go to the lounge). They will be making arroz con leche (rice pudding) and flan, both of which are common desserts around the world, and have been an enjoyable Mexican dessert for decades! The two desserts will serve as a tasty treat for you and possibly your friends and family.

⅓ of cup of sugar
Whole milk (seems to work the best but any milk can work)

Even through a pandemic, TRIO will still be providing as many resources available to ensure the success of our students! For those who miss the nostalgic feeling of being in the TRIO Lounge, we have developed a virtual ZOOM lounge for students to hangout and speak with our wonderful group of peer mentors. Did you know that SARC hosts a support group for survivors? Circle of Support is a confidential peer support group for survivors of sexual assault, intimate partner violence, stalking, and sexual harassment. The group provides a safe setting to connect with other survivors and learn information to support healing. The group is free and open to all students on a drop-in basis.
