Corydon Ramsey road is now open. The gas leak has been mitigated and all is clear.

Indiana Utilities will be visiting affected homes to return gas supply. They will work until 9pm then do any remaining homes tomorrow.

Update:

The gas line break at Corydon Ramsey road is contained and the evacuation of the immediate area is lifted. The repairs will take several hours to complete.

Once the repairs are made the gas Utility Company will have to go to each affected home to turn the gas supply back on.

🚨 Public Safety Notice 🚨

A contractor working with Mainstream has struck a 3-inch gas supply line on Corydon Ramsey Road near Commissioners Way.

As a precaution, homes in the immediate area have been evacuated, and gas service has been shut off in the affected area. Repair crews are on scene and working diligently to fix the damaged gas line; however, repairs may take several hours to complete. An estimated 60 customers are affected at this time.

Gas company personnel will be going door-to-door to shut off gas meters for customers affected by the outage.

Please avoid the area and allow emergency responders and utility crews the space they need to work safely and efficiently.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as this situation is addressed. Updates will be provided as they become available.

Good morning, Harrison County!

The National Weather Service has updated today’s briefing slides to include a Marginal Risk (Level 1 of 5) for isolated damaging winds this afternoon and evening.

While widespread severe weather is not expected at this time, a few stronger storms could produce:
🌧 Heavy rainfall
💨 Gusty to damaging winds
⛈ Frequent lightning

All other information from the previous briefing packet remains unchanged.

We encourage everyone to stay weather aware throughout the day and evening and continue to monitor trusted weather sources for updates as conditions develop.

🌧️ Flooding Potential Returns This Evening 🌧️

Good morning, Harrison County.

Another round of heavy rainfall is expected later this evening, bringing the potential for localized flooding, especially along and north of the I-64 corridor.

Our area is currently under a Slight Risk (Level 2 of 4) for excessive rainfall across southeast Indiana and north central Kentucky, and a Flood Watch has been issued.

Please use caution if traveling tonight, especially in areas prone to flooding. Never drive through flooded roadways — Turn Around, Don’t Drown.

The good news is that this is expected to be the last significant round of heavy rainfall for a while, with a quieter weather pattern expected heading into late week and the weekend.

We will continue to provide updates as needed. Stay weather aware and have a safe day.

Strong to severe storms are expected to move through the area this afternoon and evening. These storms may bring:

The National Weather Service has released information for today’s potential weather threats. Harrison County remains under a Marginal Risk (Level 1 of 5) for severe storms today, along with the potential for flash flooding due to periods of heavy rainfall today and tomorrow.

Main concerns include:🌧 Heavy rainfall and localized flooding⛈ Strong thunderstorms💨 Gusty winds and frequent lightning

Good morning, Harrison County!

Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected throughout the day today, with the first round beginning this morning. Additional storms are possible this afternoon and evening, and some could become strong to severe.

🌧️ Heavy rainfall may lead to localized flooding in some areas, especially where storms repeatedly move over the same locations.

⚠️ A Flood Watch is in effect for northeastern portions of our area from 8:00 AM EDT this morning through 8:00 AM EDT Saturday morning due to the potential for localized rainfall amounts exceeding 2 inches.

Please use caution while traveling today, never drive through flooded roadways, and continue to monitor forecasts for updates as conditions change.
