Public Safety Update:

Area affected is Corydon Ramsey Road south of Wildwood Loop, Roberts St, Ryan Ct, Cedar St, Maint St, and portions of Old Forest Rd.

There is a significant natural gas leak in the area of Commissioner Way and Corydon Ramsey RD. Please use an alternate route of travel. This area is expected to be closed to through traffic for several hours.

It's that time of year again! Starting today, firefighters will be collecting at roadblocks from 3-6 pm and door-to-door in the Town of Corydon and Harrison Township from 6-8 pm each day this week. The WHAS Crusade for Children telethon is the culmination of a year-long community effort to raise funds for children with identified health and developmental challenges across Kentucky and Southern Indiana. Since 1954, it has grown into America's most successful local telethon, raising hundreds of millions of dollars, with 100% of donations going directly to the kids. Donations can also be dropped off at our Station 1 at 120 Hilltop Dr., Corydon, IN, Monday through Saturday this week. As always, we thank our community for coming together every year to make this a success. See you at the donation bucket!

Not the usual vehicle fire action for your Harrison Township Fire Department this past weekend at Cracker Barrel. A Military Humvee caught fire in the parking lot shortly after dinner for this group of soldiers. No one was injured, but the Humvee was a total loss. Thank you to Harrison County EMS, Corydon PD, and Harrison County EMA for your assistance!!

This past week your Harrison Township Fire Department hosted Leadership Development Class for our officer staff. Fire officers spent the week focusing on critical decision-making, conflict resolution, and crew management skills. Benefits include increased operational safety, better team cohesion, and the confidence to navigate high-stress emergencies.

Both classroom and group activities encompassed training led by Deputy Chief David Taylor of Anchorage Middletown Fire & EMS. This training is above the required certification of today’s fire officers and will help transform officers from simply being "in charge" to becoming highly effective mentors and strategists. Congratulations to our staff for the hard work and dedication they have shown the department and our community!
