Coshocton County is under a Tornado Watch. Just to inform you of the difference between a Tornado Watch and Tornado Warning...

Tornado Watch: Conditions are conducive to the development of tornadoes in and close to the watch area.

Tornado Warning: A tornado has actually been sighted by spotters or indicated on radar and is occurring or imminent in the warning area.

During a Tornado Watch, you should focus on preparation and staying alert. A watch means that weather conditions are favorable for a tornado to develop, but one is not yet imminent.

Immediate Steps to Take
Stay Informed: Monitor local news, weather apps, or a NOAA Weather Radio for updates. A watch can be upgraded to a Warning at any time.

Review Your Safety Plan: Make sure everyone in your household knows where your designated shelter is (e.g., a basement or windowless interior room on the lowest floor).

Prepare Your Shelter: Ensure your safe space is clear and accessible. Gather essential supplies such as Flashlights and extra batteries.
A first-aid kit and necessary medications.
Helmets (bicycle or motorcycle) to protect against head injuries.
Blankets or heavy coats to shield from flying debris.

Charge Devices: Keep your cell phone and any portable power banks fully charged in case of power outages.

Secure Outdoor Items: If time permits, bring in or anchor loose items like trash cans or patio furniture that could become dangerous projectiles.
