Hey everyone,
Election day is finally here and it's our chance to make a difference.
I've really enjoyed running to serve on Cotati City Council - I really hope you’ll vote for me and give me a chance.
If you aren’t a Cotati voter please share this post today and let’s try to make something good happen.
A little about me:
- I’m local – I grew up in Petaluma, and I’ve lived in Cotati for almost 30 years. I own a home here and a business Loud and Clear Music.
- I was awarded “Service Above Self” by the Rohnert Park/Cotati Rotary for my fundraising through Loud and Clear for animal non-profits over the past 8 years. I’m hoping to expand what I’ve done to other local businesses.
- The current Council members have served for many years and they agree unanimously on 99% of the issues. Cotati is a diverse place and we need more diversity on the council. I feel I represent the majority of us, with families and day jobs. The people who don’t always have time to keep track of what’s going on.
- The time of passive communication is over. People don’t have time to sort through the complicated Cotati website trying to find agendas and recordings of meeting.
All the cities around us use their DIFCA funds to broadcast meetings. Cotati has chosen not to broadcast. I want to make certain agendas are readily available via social media and other methods so the community is aware of what’s happening. So you have a choice to participate in the things that are important to you.
- I’m business friendly – I want to create more opportunities for new businesses to start here. Good local businesses that add to our small town funky character.
- I’m disappointed that Cotati has the highest tax rate in all of Sonoma County. The current Council brags about having a balanced budget but it’s on the backs of Cotati families and local businesses. I want to get the budget really balanced without additional taxes.
- I believe we should share services with surrounding cities. For example there are no senior services in Cotati. I proposal we make an agreement with Rohnert Park to help with transportation of our seniors to the RP Senior Center. There are a number of things we can team up on to cut costs. There’s no reason every city needs to reinvent the wheel over and over again.
- Parking is an issue downtown – I will make agreements with commercial property owners to get more public parking.
- I want to make agreements with local business to provide free or no cost classes for teens and seniors. The City should underwrite helping out these underserved people.
- I am Pro Choice, Pro women, Pro universal healthcare, Pro legal immigration, Pro business, Pro Animals and Environment
Please check out my other posts on Facebook to learn more about me.
Please feel free to contact me to discuss where I stand, and where you stand. I’m open to ideas and I’ll do my best to thoughtfully represent you.
Best wishes, and thank you!
