Looking Glass Rural Program The Rural Program assists youth age 11-21 navigate adolescence, especially those who are experiencing homelessness, housing instability, or have run away.

We offer a wide range of services aimed toward solving challenges related to educational deficits, behavioral health issues, drug addiction, and homelessness. ed to providing exceptional customer service to the children, adolescents, and adults of Lane County. Looking Glass Community Services Rural Program offers services to homeless, runaway, and at risk youth ages 11-21. Our drop in center is located at 508 E. Whiteaker Ave. Cottage Grove, Oregon 97424. Our drop in center has friendly staff who provide youth with meals, referrals for: housing, counseling, drug and alcohol treatment, and schooling. Our drop in center has many movies for youth to enjoy, as well as board games, computers with internet access, and a clothing boutique. We provide basic needs such as clothing, hygiene items, shoes, jackets, as well as assist youth with job searches and resume building. Our Street Outreach Team works hard to build community relationships with other community resources in Cottage Grove. Our job as Street Outreach Workers is to get into contact with homeless or runaway youth in order to refer them to our drop in center where we can better assist the youth. The drop-in center is accessible from the 98 bus route that runs between Eugene and Cottage Grove.

General information

The Looking Glass Rural Program's drop-in center is an all-inclusive, safe place for youth, regardless of race, gender, sexual identity, creed, or disability. We strive to meet youth where they're at, being receptive to their personal and professional goals, whatever they may be.

Products

In our drop-in center, we offer several services, including but not limited to...

- Access to basic needs and hygiene items, including a clothing closet

- Breakfast, lunch, and snacks all day

- Assistance ordering vital records (e.g. birth certificate, state ID, social security card) and signing up for OHP

- Assistance with developing and achieving educational, personal, and career goals

- Linkages to services in the community involved in housing, transportation, meal sites, etc.

- Counseling services 1-2 times per week

- Free Internet access, movies, board games, books, art supplies, and more!

We also do community, school, and street outreach, meeting with those in Cottage Grove and the surrounding area to spread the word about Rural Program services.
