As EMS Week comes to a close, we want to extend a sincere thank you to the communities we serve for your continued support — especially everyone who helped make yesterday’s blood drive such a success.

We’re also grateful to our partner fire department agencies for the kindness, encouragement, and recognition throughout the week. Strong partnerships make a difference every day, and we’re proud to serve alongside you.

Most importantly, thank you to our Deer-Grove EMS staff for the hard work, compassion, professionalism, and teamwork you bring to this job every single day. EMS is not easy work, and this community is fortunate to have such dedicated providers answering the call.

As we head into Memorial Day weekend, we encourage everyone to stay safe, look out for one another, and take a moment to remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

⏰ Two days until our blood drive. If you've been on the fence, this is your sign. Thursday, May 21, 10 AM to 3 PM, at Station 1 (4030 County Hwy N, Cottage Grove).

A few quick facts before you book:
✅ Donation takes about an hour
✅ You can donate if you're 17+ (16 with parental consent in WI) and at least 110 lbs
✅ Eat a good meal and hydrate before you come
✅ Bring a photo ID

As EMS providers, we see what a strong blood supply makes possible. The trauma patient on the way to the ER. The new mom facing complications. The cancer patient mid-treatment. Every one of them depends on someone who decided to roll up a sleeve.

Right now the Red Cross is more than 350 donations behind their May goal, and summer (when donations historically drop) is right around the corner.

Our drive is Thursday, May 21, 10 AM to 3 PM at Station 1. Appointments take about an hour from start to finish, and yes, there are snacks. 🍪

🚑We would like to extend our sincere thanks 💙💚 to Schuster's Farm for their generous donation of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) to our department. This equipment can truly save lives, and we're grateful to have community partners who support emergency care and public safety. We're proud to serve a community that looks out for one another! 🚑

When you see us on Dane County roadways, we're not working alone. Deer-Grove EMS, Deerfield Fire Department, Cottage Grove Fire Department, Cottage Grove Police, Dane County Sheriff's Office, Wisconsin State Patrol, and towing companies work together to clear incidents quickly and get traffic moving safely.
