Two of our deputies have their “Workaversaries” this month. Deputy S. Shotliff has been with Dane County for 6 years and Deputy J. Grafton has been with Dane County for 20 years. Our deputies are proud to serve your community.

Deputy Miranda participated in Shop with a Cop on Sunday, December 7. The event begins by shopping at Target and then to wrap presents and enjoy lunch with the kids. Shop with a Cop makes a difference to so many Dane County families so they can have a nice holiday.

*Yard Waste Drop Off Closing on November 16th*

Please note that the last day to drop off non-woody yard waste at our collection site is Sunday, November 16th. After that, it will be closed for the season.

Please remember if you plan to burn leaves or brush (or anything else), you need to have a valid burning permit on file with the Town. Burning permits need to be applied for each year, and that can be done here: https://www.tn.cottagegrove.wi.gov/burning-permits/

This coming Saturday, October 25th, Cruzin' for a Cause ATV/UTV Club will be driving through the Town of Cottage Grove for a benefit ride, leaving Doubledays around 9:30am and traveling to Utica. Later in the day, they will be driving from Marshall back to Doubledays around 3:30pm. Please share the road safely with the benefit riders if you cross paths with them on Saturday.

Welcome to our newest Town of Cottage Grove Deputy, Joshua Miranda! Deputy Miranda was hired by the Dane County Sheriff’s Office in November of 2020. Deputy Miranda joins us on our second shift after working patrol out of our Northeast Precinct. Deputy Miranda has served in the United States Army Reserves as a Combat Medic. Deputy Miranda will be a great addition to our current deputies. Deputy Miranda is filling a vacancy created by Deputy Eric Miller pursuing other oppportunities.

Deputies Z. Barton, S. Shotliff, and J. Grafton hosted “Kick it With a Cop” on Thursday, July 24, at Bakken Park in Cottage Grove. Kids enjoyed meeting the deputies, looking at our squads and equipment, and receiving popsicles! We had a great turn out!
