Welcome to the official page of the Cottage Grove Police Department! Thank you for visiting our page and for your continued support.
(1)

Our page is designed to help you learn more about your police department, stay informed about community events and public safety information, and strengthen the connection between our officers and the people we proudly serve. We encourage you to take a few minutes to explore our posts, and we always welcome your feedback, questions, and comments. The Cottage Grove Police Department was established in December 1982 through an intergovernmental agreement to provide law enforcement services to both the Village and Town of Cottage Grove. On January 1, 2015, the department transitioned to become a village-only police department, continuing its commitment to providing exceptional service to our community. Today, the members of the Cottage Grove Police Department are dedicated to building strong community partnerships and delivering professional, compassionate, and responsive police services. We believe the best public safety outcomes are achieved by working alongside our residents, businesses, schools, and community organizations to identify concerns, solve problems, and improve quality of life. Our mission is to prevent crime, reduce the fear of crime, and enhance the safety and well-being of everyone who lives, works, and visits Cottage Grove through proactive policing, community engagement, and a commitment to excellence. The department is comprised of a Chief, Lieutenant, three Sergeants, one Detective, 14 Police Officers (including our K-9 Officer), a full-time Administrative Services Manager, and a full-time Administrative Assistant. We look forward to connecting with you and serving the Cottage Grove community.

🚔🐾 A visit full of smiles, learning, and a whole lot of puppy love!

The Cottage Grove Police Department recently stopped by the Kids Safari Learning Center to spend some time with the kids!

Our officers showed the kids our police cars, talked about what we do, and answered some great questions. Of course, no visit would be complete without our favorite four-legged officer, K9 Nash!

The kids had a chance to meet Nash, check out the squad cars, and get a closer look at what it’s like to be a police officer.

Thank you to Kids Safari Learning Center for welcoming us and giving us the opportunity to connect with these amazing little learners. We love getting out into our community, building friendships, and making positive memories with our youngest residents.

And we’re pretty sure Nash enjoyed all the attention, too! ❤️

🐾 BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO OFFICER ACE & K9 NASH! 🐾

Please join us in congratulating Officer Ace and his K9 partner, Nash, on successfully completing their K9 recertification! 🎉🐕‍🦺

And because apparently being certified wasn’t enough, Nash decided to show everyone what he could do! Competing against several other K9s, Nash took home 🥇 1st place and 🥈🥈 two 2nd-place finishes for his drug-detection skills!

We are incredibly proud of Officer Ace and Nash, and the hard work they put in to maintain their skills and keep our community safe. We are lucky to have such a talented K9 team serving the Village of Cottage Grove.

And, of course, we can’t forget the most important part…

Nash is the bestest boy! 🐾❤️

Great job, Officer Ace & Nash! We’re proud of you both! 👏🚔🐕‍🦺
