🥵 Heads up!

High heat risk will return later this week to portions of the northern Sacramento Valley where the daytime highs will range from 100-112° Thursday & Friday. Plan ahead now by keeping an eye on your local forecast & practicing heat safety!

Monday will be the hottest day this week, with some Valley locations seeing temps above 110°. Protect yourself & others from the heat:
- Stay hydrated
- Check on those vulnerable to heat
- Look before you lock: never leave kids or pets in cars
- Limit outdoor activity during the warmest hours of the day

Reminder that CAL FIRE will be conducting a 500-acre prescribed burn operation in the area around the West Central Landfill on Clear Creek Road today. Continuing the prescribed burns on this property are important to remove fire fuel, reducing fire hazard to the landfill and several communities in the area, and provide live fire training for fire personnel from several northern region units in a controlled manner. Smoke will be visible from many parts of the Sacramento Valley while burning is taking place.

06/05/2022

Near record high temps are possible Friday. There will be widespread areas of High Heat Risk in the Valley on Friday, so avoid outdoor activities during the warmest hours of the day and stay hydrated. This heat will impact everyone, not just those sensitive to heat risk!
