The last few months have been a whirlwind. Between leadership changes, station projects, an uptick in call volume, staffing challenges, and just life in general, there has been a lot going on.

Through it all, I am extremely proud of how our crews have stepped up and taken care of business. Long days turn into long nights, and they handle business. Hot mornings turn into even hotter afternoons, and they handle business. No matter the circumstances, our crews put aside their own comfort, answer the call, and take care of the community they serve.

They come on shift bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, ready for whatever the next 48 hours may bring. And lately, for many of our crew members, those 48-hour shifts have turned into even longer ones as they have stepped up to help cover vacancies while we train new team members to fill those positions.

That willingness to step up, help one another, and continue providing excellent care does not go unnoticed. I am incredibly proud of the dedication, professionalism, and teamwork our crews continue to show.

Meet Mario! He has been an EMT here at VVAC for 3 years and is going to Medic school this year! He is a vital part of VVAC and we value his hilarious and personable personality! Don’t let him fool you, he is the champ of Mario Kart!

This week, we’re getting to know one of the amazing people who makes Verde Valley Ambulance Company such a special place to work. 🚑💙

Meet Becky! She is a Paramedic here at VVAC, but she started off as a EMT and graduated Medic school in May. You can catch her on A shift leading the crew as Active Captain, making the crew play board games or Nintendo switch, and providing amazing care to the community!
