June 24th, 2026 Members of Couderay Vol. Fire Department along with many others, took part in an Emergency Propane Fire Training hosted at the Town of Hayward FD.

The training consisted of classroom instruction on the
physical properties of propane and a hands-on portion that included 5 fire scenarios including a grill, forklift, bulk tank, and propane terminal piping props. All hands-on training was overseen by Wisconsin certified fire instructors, FIRE LLC and is conducted in accordance with NFPA 1403.

The Couderay Volunteer Fire Department would like to announce a fundraiser to support one of our own, Firefighter Kenyon Ramer as he faces ongoing medical issues and needs our help.

Kenyon has been a dedicated member of our department since 2018, answering the call to serve and help others whenever needed. Now, we’re asking our community to come together and help support him during this challenging time.

Hot and dry weather with breezy southwest winds are in store for today, leading to another day of near critical fire weather across the Northland. Fires could spread easily in these conditions this afternoon and evening. Check burning restrictions and report any fires to local authorities.

🔥🔥PSA: The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources will be conducting prescribed burning on the Chippewa Flowage property tomorrow, May 2nd. The prescribed burn will be taking place off of World's End Rd, Township of Hunter. The burn is being implemented for a variety of benefits, including oak, pine, and birch regeneration, and will maintain and improve habitat for a variety of wildlife species. Smoke may be visible for most of the day from multiple areas on the flowage. Please watch for posted signs and prescribed burn activities and use caution when in the area.🔥🔥

When departments come together, it’s more than just training—it’s trust being built, skills being sharpened, and a shared commitment to doing the job right. Today was just that. Burn trainings like these push limits, strengthen teamwork, and remind us that no matter the patch on our sleeves or the name on our backs, we’ve all got each other’s backs.
