We’re hearing lots of buzz about our “Stitched Stories” Quilt Show, coming up on Saturday, June 13! We’re thrilled that folks from near and far are so excited about this event! Quilters and quilt owners: LESS THAN ONE WEEK remains to submit your entry forms for judged and display quilts! Space is rapidly filling up! All entry forms must be received no later than Friday, June 5. Local businesses and individuals who wish to be listed in the program booklet as sponsors for this popular event should also get in touch before June 5. Please let us know if you need a sponsorship form. We’re working on a fantastic program book, which will give details on all of the quilts, including some commemorative and historic pieces that will be on display! There’s a role for everyone in this America250 event, which is expected to draw attendees from near and far! Don’t miss out!
Show date is Saturday, June 13 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, at First United Presbyterian Church of Coudersport. All proceeds benefit the Coudersport Public Library general operating fund.

The list of individuals and businesses supporting our upcoming “Stitched Stories” Quilt Show grows substantially every day! In addition to colorful displays of contemporary judged quilts and vintage/heirloom quilts, the event features a silent auction for this wonderful and unique quilt, made and donated by Brenda Bonczar of Coudersport. Brenda is one of those folks who really knocks it out of the park for us! She volunteers as a Story Hour leader — inspiring a love of reading and imagination in our youngest patrons — and has also made and donated several beautiful quilts for fundraisers over the years. We’re very grateful to her for sharing her expertise, talent and creativity for the benefit of the Library and its patrons! This striking quilt is currently on display at the Library, and on June 13 will be moved to First United Presbyterian Church for the quilt show. Silent auction bids are now being accepted at the Library; bidding will continue until 3:00 pm on June 13. Highest bid at auction’s close takes the quilt! We’re going to miss this lovey piece when it leaves the Library! All proceeds benefit Coudersport Public Library’s general operating fund.

Free weekly programs for ages kindergarten to tween begin on Tuesday, June 2! Programs begin at 11:00 a.m. at the Mitchell Park Pavilion, or at the Library in inclement weather. Participants can also read books to win prizes throughout the summer!

Some of those fascinating stories, along with the artistry and history of the pieces, will be revealed at Stitched Stories: A Quilt Show, on Saturday, June 13! This event is being held in conjunction with Potter County’s America250 festivities!

If you’re a quilter planning to enter items for judging, or an owner wishing to display a beloved heirloom quilt, take note: ENTRY DEADLINE IS ONLY TEN DAYS FROM TODAY!!! Detailed entry forms are available at area public libraries and sewing shops, the Potter County Artisan Center, and online at coudersportlibrary.org (click on the link in the homepage article). Final date to enter is Friday, June 5; entered quilts may be dropped off at the Library during the week of June 8.

Did you know that you can enter a favorite heirloom quit for display at our Stitched Stories Quilt Show? In addition to Judged entries made by entrants, the event will feature displays of heirloom quilts, whose owners just want to share the beauty of the pieces.
Perhaps you have a flour sack quilt, or a prized quilt made by your grandmother. If so, don’t hesitate to enter it in the Display division!
A People’s Choice Award will be presented to attendees’ favorite quilt of the entire show! We know that there are beautifully made quilts out there; why not give others a chance to enjoy your treasure?
Stitched Stories: A Quilt Show sponsored by the Coudersport Public Library, will take place Saturday, June 13, 10 am to 4 pm, at First United Presbyterian Church of Coudersport. If you plan to enter an item (or items!) in the Judged or Display categories for our upcoming Quilt Show, now is the time. Don’t let the entry deadline pass you by!
Stitched Stories, a Quilt Show, will be sponsored by the Coudersport Public Library on Saturday, June 13 at First United Presbyterian Church of Coudersport. Detailed entry forms for both judged (made by entrant) and display (heirloom type) quilts, in adult and juvenile entrant categories, are now available; click the link in the article at coudersportlibrary.org, or stop by the Library, or the Potter County Artisan Center in Coudersport.
Info and entry forms have also been provided to sewing and quilt shops and public libraries throughout the region. Cash prizes and ribbons will be awarded in the Judged division, and quilts in both the Judged and Display divisions will be eligible for the People’s Choice Award. Entry form deadline is June 5. Space may be limited, enter early to ensure we have space available for your quilt!

For a change the weather cooperated on Story Hour day! After some fun stories with Miss Brenda and Miss Julie, our Preschool Story Hour group had a great time planting Mother’s Day flowers and then decorating the pots for their Moms! This is our final Story Hour for this spring, but we’ll see you all again in the fall! Also, Summer Reading signups will begin this week! Thanks to Miss Brenda and Miss Julie for the wonderful stories, songs and crafts, to Miss Amy for assisting, and to all the mothers and grandmothers who accompanied the little ones this spring!

Entries are rolling in for Stitched Stories, a Quilt Show! This colorful event, held in conjunction with this summer’s America250 celebration, will be sponsored by the Coudersport Public Library on Saturday, June 13 at First United Presbyterian Church of Coudersport.
