What a wonderful thing to be known as the Book Lady. 📚💕

This is my family’s first Imagination Library book. I didn’t expect the letter Dolly wrote inside to feel so personal, but she had a way with words. Dolly wanted to make sure children had the opportunity to feel the impact of words, to grow up in a world where stories are abundant and always within reach.

There is something so special about a free book arriving at a child’s home simply because someone believed every child should have one. It feels like a small reminder of the good in the world and the good in people.

Dolly had a lot of good to give, and she shared it in such a beautiful way.

Thank you, Dolly, for the impact you have made on children and families around the world through the Imagination Library.

🍋 Two of our youngest patrons had an idea to help the library: a lemonade stand! Of course, we couldn’t say no. 💛📚

Don’t forget to stop by Coulter Public Library for our Lemonade for Learning Fundraiser this Friday, from 11 a.m.–2 p.m.

We’ll have refreshing lemonade and baked goods available, with proceeds helping us refresh the children’s and junior sections of the library.

What a wonderful way to wrap up our Plant a Seed, Read Summer Reading Program!

This summer, we explored seeds, gardens, pollinators, farming, food and so much more through stories, hands-on activities and plenty of fun. Today’s finale was the perfect way to bring it all together!

A special thank you to Val Plagge and Craig & Nancy Johnson for bringing their tractors today! 🚜 And Laela with ISU Extension for the fun seed dissecting activity!

We are so grateful for the memories we made together and can’t wait to keep learning, reading and having fun at the library throughout the year! 📚

Today’s Summer Reading program was full of giant fruits, vegetables and lots of laughs! 🍎🥦🍓

In the book June 29, 1999 by David Wiesner, a girl launches vegetable seedlings into the sky for a science experiment. Soon, giant vegetables begin falling across the country in a mysterious and surprising way.

Of course we had to do some of our own giant vegetable experiments! 🎈
