Cooking Up Fun in Urbandale!

We're excited to share that our Urbandale location has recently started cooking classes for our consumers! These classes provide a fun, hands-on opportunity to learn new skills, build confidence, and enjoy time with friends.

One of our recent classes featured a favorite treat: root beer floats! 🥤🍦 Consumers had a great time creating their own delicious floats while learning basic food preparation skills and enjoying a sweet reward for their hard work.

Cooking classes are a wonderful way to encourage independence, creativity, and social connection, all while having fun in the kitchen. We look forward to many more recipes, treats, and memories to come!

Our Council Bluffs consumers recently enjoyed a fun day at the bowling alley, filled with friendly competition, laughter, and plenty of great memories!

Whether they were rolling strikes, cheering on friends, or celebrating every pin knocked down, everyone had a wonderful time spending the day together and staying active in the community.

We love providing opportunities for our consumers to build friendships, try new activities, and enjoy experiences that bring people together. Events like these remind us that it's not about the final score, it's about the fun, connections, and memories made along the way.

One of our Omaha consumers, James, recently enjoyed a memorable trip to Memphis, Tennessee with his Shared Living Provider.

During their travels, they explored some of Memphis’ most iconic landmarks, including:
🏀 FedExForum, home of the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies
🏨 The Lorraine Motel Museum
🎸 Graceland, the famous home and estate of Elvis Presley

This month, we proudly celebrated the 1-year anniversary of our Urbandale location🎉

We enjoyed the day with a cookout full of burgers, hotdogs, and other great foods. We also enjoyed an activity where our consumers brought in photos of themselves as 1-year-olds. Everyone had a blast trying to guess who was who!

Thank you to everyone who made this first year so special. Your support, smiles, and participation are what make our community truly amazing. Here’s to many more years of growth, connection, and fun together! 💙

The staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely involved, and there is always clear, open communication about everything. I especially appreciate the monthly calendars that outline the itinerary—it really helps with planning and staying informed.
You can truly tell when an agency cares about its work by how it treats both its clients and employees, and Vodec consistently demonstrates that. From the front desk staff—especially Trish, who is always cheerful, welcoming, and helpful—to every team member I’ve interacted with, the level of support has been outstanding.
