Treasurer's Office Update: Temporary Service Suspension for Driver's Licenses and Identification Cards

Due to current staffing limitations, beginning August 14th, the Morris County Treasurer's Office will not be issuing driver's licenses or identification cards until further notice.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to restore these services.

Updates will be provided as soon as services resume.

Election Update:

A Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, August 4th, 2026, to nominate candidates for National, State, County and Township offices, and to elect party precinct committeemen
and committeewomen. The Primary Election ballot will also include a Constitutional Amendment Question. To preview your ballot prior to voting, you may go to https://myvoteinfo.voteks.org/voterview

We will begin mailing advance ballots on Wednesday, July 15th to voters who have completed mail ballot applications. Those who wish to vote by mail must first apply to receive the ballot. If you have not completed an application for this specific election, you will not receive a ballot by mail.

Applications are available by calling the County Clerk’s Office at 620-767-5518 or emailing [email protected].

The deadline to request a ballot by mail is Tuesday, July 28th.

Mail ballots may be returned by any of the following methods:
• Returned via US Postal Service
• If returned by mail they must be received by the County Clerk’s Office on or before 7:00 PM on election day
• Hand delivered to the Morris County Clerk's office on or before 7:00 PM on election day
• Hand delivered to a polling location on or before 7:00 PM on election day
• Hand delivered to a ballot drop box on or before 7:00 PM on election day

Ballot drop boxes will be located at:
Morris County Courthouse (South Parking Lot)
501 West Main St
Council Grove, KS 66846

White City Community Building
118 West Mackenzie St
White City, KS 66872

Ballot drop boxes will be monitored by video surveillance 24/7 and will be checked by a bi-partisan committee daily. (Excluding weekends)

In-person advance voting begins on Wednesday, July 15th, 2026, at the Morris County Clerk’s office:
• Weekdays M-F, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Saturday, August 1st, 9:00 AM to 12 Noon
• Monday, August 3rd, 8:00 AM to 12 Noon

The polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., August 4th, 2026, for those who wish to vote on election day. The following polling locations will be open:

Community Christian Church - Council Grove: Ward 1, Ward 2, Ward 3
Community Christian Church - Twp 1,Pct 1, Twp 1,Pct 2 and Twp 2

With the hotter temperatures and heat index we would like to remind everyone that the Morris County Courthouse downstairs meeting room will be open as a cooling center for anyone in need.

After 5:00 p.m. access to the building will be on the south side lower level. There is an intercom by the door to gain access, or you can call the Morris County Sheriff's Office at 620-767-6310 to be let inside.
