🌡️ As temps rise, the fine, flashy fuels lining our roads—like dry grass and weeds—are ready to ignite. One spark from dragging chains, a hot exhaust pipe, or a tossed cigarette is all it takes to start a wildfire!!
đźš— Before you go:
✅ Check your chains—secure them tight.
✅ Maintain your vehicle— Properly inflate your tires &look worn parts or dragging metal of any kind.
âś… Make sure spark arrestors on OHVs are in good working order- carry water, a tool, fire extinguisher for any unexpected ignitions.
🚙Along the way:
âś… Avoid parking or driving over dry grass.
âś… Never toss cigarette butts out the window.

Be fire aware. Be responsible. Your prevention efforts protect Idaho’s lands and communities.
Do your part, prevent a wildfire start. 🌲

Speed Trailers have been placed strategically throughout Adams County to deter drivers from speeding, collect data to determine when radars are seeing the most speed related incidents, and to allow Deputies to be more proactive about enforcement in those areas. The program is led by Deputy McCoy, who works members of the community to target the many areas where we continue to see speed related issues.

In this photo, the Speed Trailer had only been in place approximately five minutes, with a marked patrol car also in parked next to it. The driver's speed displayed on the radar was after they already had begun applying the brakes. Stay safe, get home, and slow down.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office has launched a new drone program to enhance public safety and emergency response capabilities throughout the county.

The program is led by Deputy Ashton, who brings approximately eight years of unmanned aircraft experience obtained from service in the United States Air Force and the private commercial sector. His expertise will help support the safe and effective deployment of drone technology in a variety of missions.

The drone will be used for critical incident response, search-and-rescue operations, and damage assessments following natural disasters and severe weather events. By combining modern technology with experienced personnel, the agency is better equipped to respond to emergencies, protect lives, and serve the residents of Adams County.
