This little lady has completed her stray hold, and unfortunately went unclaimed. She is approximately 5 years old, and about 40 pounds. Short and stocky! She’s a little timid, but warms up quickly with some quiet, gentle attention. She seems to do well with other low-key dogs.

This young lady has completed her stray hold and is ready for a new home to call her own!
Hallie is approximately 3 years old and about 60 pounds. She seems to do well with other dogs. I believe she’s more of a family pet than a hunting dog.

***Neuter appointment 8/26.

This young hound mix is approximately 2 years old and weighs about 45 pounds. He’s super sweet, and seems to get along well with other dogs. Unfortunately I have no way to cat test him.
He’s smart, and I believe her would make a great family dog.

⭐️RESCUE COMMITTED⭐️

I’m trying everything I can to continue to hold on to these babies. But they need out.

I get 8-10 calls a week or more for stray pickups or owner surrenders. I have 7 runs.

These babies are less than a year old. While they may be timid due to not being properly socialized while young pups, they are very sweet. They just want love and to know that they have a safe place to land. I believe they are siblings, but they are not bonded. They would be fine in separate homes.

Adoptions are free, and they’ll come with a certificate covering their spay/neuter.

Black/tan - “Tweety”, female, shy
Tan/black - “Sylvester”, male, more outgoing but still unsure.

‼️ATTENTION PET OWNERS‼️

We are seeing a rise in “lost pet” scams in the area. Do NOT include your phone number on the post. Report lost pets to Animal Control. You may ask for potential finders to call us at 757-653-2100 with any information. Be very cautious of messages sent through social media claiming to have found or offering to track your pet.

🚩Red Flag Signs🚩
•Demands of money: Finders wanting upfront fees, wire transfers, digital payments (CashApp, Venmo, etc), or gift cards are an immediate tell of a scams
•Fake authorities: Cease contact and call the listed official number and ask for verification.
•No real proof: refusal to send photos, videos, or answer specific questions about your pet. Always leave one distinct mark or behavior off of public notifications so you can test finders.

If someone claims to have found your pet, only agree to meet them in a SAFE public place (sheriff’s office, police station).

Also beware of pet tracking services. Especially if they contact you first! If something seems suspicious, it probably is.
