Come learn about the Rhode Island Fisher Study, a research project to understand fishers (commonly called ‘fisher cats’ ) in R.I. with Laken Ganoe, DEM Furbearer Biologist.
Using a combination of camera traps and GPS collars, Ganoe monitored fisher distributions and movements across the state. Field work is now concluded, and Ganoe is presenting the analyses.
In addition, fisher pelts, skulls, and a mounted, taxidermied fisher will be on display.
Free and open to the public. No registration required. If you'd like a friendly reminder 2 days before the program, you can email Jessica at [email protected].
