Councilwoman Alisa Capaldi

Councilwoman Alisa Capaldi Reflecting on the numerous contributions of Coventry's remarkable citizens throughout the years stirred a deep sense of duty and purpose within me.

I have been blessed by many fortunate things in my life, including family, friends, and career, but I realized I was missing something of substance in my life: giving back. I am driven by the desire to commit myself to the betterment of Coventry, following in the footsteps of many dedicated residents who have shaped our town's legacy. When I found out that the district 2 seat became available in F

ebruary, I decided to apply. On February 12, 2024, I was appointed the Coventry Town Council, District 2, Councilwoman.

I am privileged to have served my district for the past few months. During this time, I have championed crucial initiatives, such as supporting the adoption of an ordinance facilitating the acquisition of Johnson’s Pond, prioritizing fiscal responsibility, advocating for revitalizing our local economy, improving infrastructure, and addressing social issues.

I am committed to implementing innovative solutions that drive positive change, hearing citizens’ concerns, and working with constituents to improve Coventry. However, a few months isn’t enough time to enact meaningful change. I am contacting family and friends for your support as I gear up to campaign to retain my seat on the Coventry Town Council this Fall. Your support through a donation—no matter how big or small—is vital in ensuring I can help reach as many district 2 voters as possible. Whether it’s purchasing lawn signs, palm cards, direct mail postcards, or funding meet-and-greet events, I can’t do this work alone.

Through the remainder of my current term and if elected to serve again this November, I promise to continue not making decisions in isolation. As the District 2 Councilwoman, I will approach each issue with determination and an openness to diverse perspectives, always prioritizing community welfare.

My key priorities include:
*Revitalizing our local economy and improving infrastructure
*Listening to your concerns and driving solutions
*Giving District 2 a greater voice to influence town-wide decisions
*Ensuring transparency and timely communications
*Promoting responsible spending
*Advocating for a municipal fire department

I have no agenda or affiliation to either political party. I vote for what is best for this town and the people I serve. Our community's strength lies in our collective effort. Together, let's shape a brighter future for Coventry. I respectfully request your donation and vote, which will allow me to continue advocating for the needs of the district 2 community. Together, we can build a stronger, more vibrant Coventry for generations. Councilwoman Alisa Capaldi

After much thought, I have decided that I will not be seeking another term on the Coventry Town Council.

Serving the residents of District 2 and the Town of Coventry has been an honor. Over the past two and a half years, I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside dedicated town staff, community members, and colleagues on many important issues affecting our community.

When I first decided to run, I often spoke about my father and the example he set through his love for this town and his commitment to community. Carrying that spirit of service with me throughout my time on the Council has meant a great deal to me.

Public service is never easy, but I remain grateful for the experience, the conversations, and the many residents who took the time to share their concerns, ideas, and support along the way.

While I may be stepping away from elected office, I will always care deeply about Coventry and wish the town continued success in the years ahead.

I think Britney Boyer would be a great candidate for Town Council. Britney cares deeply about our community, brings a thoughtful and positive approach to local issues, and I believe she would be a tremendous asset to the Council and to the residents of District 2.

Thank you to everyone who placed their trust in me to serve.

☺️This week, the Coventry Police Department proudly recognizes National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.

To say we are lucky to have the dedicated men and women on the other end of our emergency lines ☎️, would be an understatement. They are the first point of contact in someone’s time of need, answering the call, day or night, often when emotions are high and situations are at their worst.

Their ability to remain cool, calm, and collected, (even when others cannot) is what makes them the true first, first responders.

Our dispatchers play a critical role💪 not only in serving our community, but in supporting our officers in the field and helping keep them safe every single day.

We are incredibly grateful for their professionalism, dedication, and unwavering commitment to public safety.

Thank you for standing on the front lines alongside us. 🫡

🐾This week, the Coventry Police Department proudly recognizes National Animal Control Officer Appreciation Week❗️

(🗣️For the record, we think it’s pretty rude that Dispatchers and ACO’s don’t get their own separate weeks as they are both equally deserving of their time to shine. But alas, we digress. 😮‍💨)

As many in our community have likely seen in the news 📰 , our Animal Control Division is constantly hard at work responding to calls, protecting animals, and holding accountable those who harm them.

From large farm animals 🐴 to small domesticated pets 🐣, they do it all. More importantly, they care for those who cannot speak for or defend themselves.

🗣️Their work often goes unseen, but it is critical to the safety and well-being of both our community and the animals within it.

🙏 We are incredibly grateful for their dedication, compassion, and commitment to doing what is right, NO MATTER the situation.

Thank you for everything you do and for standing alongside us in service to Coventry.
