The Town of Coventry is hiring for the position of Recreation Assistant.

The Recreation Assistant serves as the onsite supervisor for the Before & After School Program and Summer Camp. The Recreation Assistant creates a safe, positive, engaging and enriching environment through planning and implementing a daily schedule of activities, supervises staff including assigns duties and provides performance feedback, maintains facility cleanliness and equipment/supply inventory, collects and reviews all participant paperwork, uses appropriate behavior management techniques, communicates effectively with participants, staff, parents, and Supervisor. The Recreation Assistant performs general office duties including answering phones, processing registrations and payments, marketing and promotion of programs and events. Candidates must have prior childcare or camp experience and CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain certification. This is a full time position (37 hours) with the majority of the hours in direct delivery of programs. School Year Hours (10am – 6pm) and Summer Camp Hours (9:00am – 5:00pm). Salary range for the position is $19.89 - $25.97 plus health benefits, generous holiday/vacation/sick time. Apply online at https://www.coventry-ct.gov/Jobs.aspx. Application deadline: July 6 at 9am.
