The Freedom of Information Act was created to increase accountability and transparency in government agencies, and we are always happy to provide the requested documentation, when available.

🚨 STATEWIDE AIR QUALITY ALERT: July 16–17, 2026 🚨

Wildfire smoke is expected to impact air quality across Michigan, with conditions ranging from Very Unhealthy to Hazardous.

To protect yourself and your family:

- Stay indoors as much as possible.
- Keep windows and doors closed.
- Use the recirculate setting on your HVAC or air conditioner if available.
- Limit physical activity, especially outdoors.
- Avoid activities that worsen indoor air quality (burning candles, smoking, excessive use of gas stoves, etc.).
- Wear a properly fitted NIOSH-approved N95 or P100 respirator if you must spend time outside.

Young children, older adults, pregnant individuals, and those with heart or lung conditions are especially vulnerable to the effects of wildfire smoke. Please take a moment to check on your neighbors, friends, and loved ones who may need assistance.

Stay informed by monitoring local updates and visiting:

This week, we proudly recognize the dedicated EMS professionals who answer the call day and night to serve our community. During EMS Week, we thank our paramedics, EMTs, and first responders for their compassion, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to helping others during life’s most critical moments.

From medical emergencies and accidents to providing comfort during difficult times, EMS personnel are there when people need them most. Their work often happens behind the scenes, but the impact they make is felt throughout our entire community every single day.

Please join us in thanking all EMS providers for their service, sacrifice, and dedication. 💙🚑
