We often think of judges as distant figures, presiding above the courtroom, removed from the everyday lives of the people whose fates they decide. However, the best judges are the ones who never lose touch with the community they serve.

Blair Alford is a neighbor, not just a candidate. She travels the same roads, knows the same streets, and understands what is at stake for the families and businesses of St. Tammany and Washington Parishes because this is her community, too.

She is running for Judge with a commitment to the people who call the Northshore home. Blair holds an unwavering belief that fairness, integrity, and the rule of law are principles that every person who walks through that courtroom door deserves.

Blair Alford has spent nearly two decades in the courtroom doing the rigorous, high-stakes work of a violent crimes prosecutor and civil litigator. She's tried more than 100 cases before juries, advocated fiercely for victims, and earned a reputation as an experienced and effective trial attorney.

Her professional excellence has been recognized with the Outstanding Prosecutor Award from Victims and Citizens Against Crime and the Crimefighters Award, and her peers trusted her to mentor and train fellow prosecutors in trial practice, evidentiary issues, and courtroom strategy.

In recent years, Blair has focused on civil litigation, deepening her understanding of how judicial rulings affect not only victims and defendants, but individuals and their families, businesses, and the broader communities of St. Tammany and Washington Parishes.

She is running for Judge because she believes the courtroom must be a place of order, efficiency, and unwavering impartiality β€” where every person is treated with dignity and the law is applied with consistency and integrity.

Today, Blair and her family joined members of our community at the Memorial Day Ceremony at the St. Tammany Justice Center to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Despite the rainy weather, the ceremony served as a powerful reminder that the spirit of remembrance and gratitude never fades.

We are deeply thankful for those who gave everything in service to our nation and for the families who carry their legacy forward each day.

Last night, Blair had the pleasure of joining the Lakewood Northshore Property Owners Association (LNPOA) to connect with neighbors and discuss what's happening in the area. A huge thank you to Steve and Monique Jacobs for opening up your beautiful home, and to Jimmy Inman for the invitation!

A judge's knowledge changes everything for everyone in that courtroom. You deserve a judge who understands what's at stake for the victims, for the accused, and for the families affected.

With approximately 20 years of experience spanning both violent crimes prosecution and civil litigation, she brings a depth of legal knowledge that is rare and significant. Where most attorneys build their careers on one side of the law, Blair has navigated both β€” trying more than 100 jury trials and witnessing firsthand how the law impacts individuals and their families, businesses, and entire communities from every angle.

When Blair takes her seat on the bench, this district will have a judge who has lived the law from multiple perspectives, applying the principles of fairness and integrity as the role demands.

πŸ“ Weekend Whereabouts: This past Saturday, Blair and her family had the privilege of joining hundreds of community members at the NAMIWalks event at Safe Haven Campus in Mandeville. It was an experience that will stay with us long after the walk was over.

NAMIWalks is the largest fundraising and mental health awareness event on the Northshore, bringing the community together each year to promote mental health care, reduce stigma, and raise funds that stay right here. Since May is Mental Health Awareness Month, there is no better time to recognize organizations like NAMI Southeast Louisiana that work tirelessly year-round to ensure no one in our community faces mental illness alone.

Big thanks to Triple Nickel Bar & Grill Madisonville for hosting this beautiful Dine for a Cause event benefiting Team Gleason, and for giving Blair the opportunity to introduce herself to such an incredible group of people. Walking into that room, surrounded by a community showing up with so much heart and purpose, truly meant the world to her.

May is ALS Awareness Month, and events like this are exactly how we make a difference: raising awareness, supporting families, and keeping the memory of loved ones close to our hearts.

Team Gleason does vital work empowering people living with ALS to live purposeful lives, and it was an honor to be part of a community that rallies behind that mission.
