To assist you, the PVA offers complimentary exterior sketches of your home. These sketches provide an estimate of your living area’s square footage.

Did you know your property assessment and your tax bill are not the same thing?

The PVA Office determines the assessed value of property. Tax rates are set by local taxing districts, and tax bills are handled separately.

Understanding the difference can help property owners feel more confident when reviewing their property information.

Did You Know? We don’t “pick” your property value.

By Kentucky law, the PVA is required to assess all property at 100% fair market value—what your home would sell for on the open market.

We are also required to physically review properties on a set cycle and follow state guidelines.

We are bound by law to ensure fairness and consistency for all property owners.

Those responsibilities belong to the taxing jurisdictions—not our office. Contact your city, school, and county officials and express your concerns.
