A huge thank you to our community, in 24hrs we have had many respond with snacks, water, and donations for hydration supplies. We have also had several large scale donations gifted and are at the point where we can no longer accept any more water or Gatorade donations. If you were planning to help we recommend reaching out to our neighboring departments, Itasca Fire Department, Woodbury VFD Official , or City of Blum Fire/Rescue as they may still be able to accept donations.

A huge thank you to Luke Brewer at OpenDoor Foodbank in Joshua for donating an entire pallet of Powerade.

Yesterday CVFD and surrounding departments responded to two large grass fires and the long range forecast looks favorable for our wildland fire season to go through the bulk of the fall.

We have had several reach out recently about water and Gatorade donations, while currently we have plenty of water we do regularly run short on Gatorade (Gatorade zero preferred) and electrolyte packets (like drip drop or liquid IV).

If you'd like to help feel free to drop anything off at the station at the door under the awning we aren't always there but we are there regularly enough to bring it in.

Covington VFD responded mutual aid to Itasca on a train vs. vehicle incident at the intersection of FM 67 and SH 81. While assisting with extricating the victims of the vehicle, one of our firefighters suffered a heat related emergency and was air lifted to a Ft. Worth hospital. We are very pleased to report that our firefighter is home recovering. We appreciate the outreach and prayers from everyone.
