Covington, just a reminder, if you are around this weekend, dont forget to stop by the station to get BBQ, Sides, Deserts, and last minute raffle tickets at the station, we will begin serving lunch around 10:30am, Carter Blood Care will be here at 10am. You can sign up for the raflle or the blood drive at the appropriate links below.

The Co****le tournament will start at roughly 1pm, if you wish to play please contact us prior to, entry fee will be $20 per person and we will draw for teams at 1pm. We will have a seperate tournament for the kids for free. Winner of the adult tournament will win a $100 visa card.

Where do your donations go?

Most of you know that our volunteer organization is a registered 501c3 non profit and relies mostly on donations and grants to exist. The bulk of your donations go towards securing grants to purchase needed equipment such as the stabilization strut in the picture below. Last week Covington Fire was requested to respond to a vehicle rollover on I35w with Itasca and Grandview, once on scene Covington units were able to secure the vehicle and quickly extricate the patient so they could transport to appropriate medical facilities. This was all done in the span of 15 minutes which may feel like an eternity but is extremely fast considering the nature of our departments and limited resources. Because of local grant oppurtunites from The Dorothy Gaines Foundation and monies available through donations, these struts were able to be purchased.
