From Saint Tammany Health Systems:
Good morning. We wanted to update you on plans for an intermittent lane closure on West 11th Avenue that is scheduled to begin this week in connection with our ongoing parking garage project.
Starting Tuesday (June 9), crews will begin work to replace subsurface drainage along the north side of West 11th Avenue between Harrison Avenue and South Tyler Street ahead of the eventual installation of a left-turn lane from 11th onto Tyler Street.
This work, which will begin near Harrison and work its way toward Tyler, will require intermittent closures of part of the westbound lane of West 11th – that is, the lane feeding Tyler – over an estimated three-week period. A traffic control team will be present to facilitate traffic flow whenever a lane closure is required.
The eastbound lane of 11th Avenue – which is that lane leading from Tyler – is expected to remain open throughout. Additionally, access to Tchefuncta Urgent Care across 11th from the St. Tammany Parish Hospital Emergency Department will also remain open throughout.
As always, parking garage progress updates are posted regularly on our website at: https://www.sttammany.health/parkinggarageprogress
Please do not hesitate to contact me should you need anything further or have any questions.
Sincerely,
Kelly M. Rabalais, FACHE
Chief Strategy Officer
