With the Christmas season coming to a close, you may be thinking to yourself, "Well this tree looks nice, but what am I to do with it?" Well you are in luck Covington! St. Tammany Parish is accepting recycled Christmas trees! These trees will be used towards marsh creation and fish habitat enhancement.
Make sure to strip your tree of all decorations and stands, and you can drop your tree at these two locations during daylight hours:
1. St. Tammany Parish Fairgrounds- 1515 North Florida Street, Covington
2. Old Levee Board Property- 61134 Military Rd, Slidell

This morning around 2am, a water main broke at the River Forest Apartments. Our public works department went out for repairs this morning shortly after we were made aware of this issue.
As of now there is a boil advisory for #5 and #7 Lurline drive (River Forest Apartments). We will make an update on our website and on our social media when the boil advisory is lifted.

Today's garbage service was halted with 4 hours of route remaining. Coastal will resume tomorrow morning, then begin recycle service immediately afterwards. Areas without "circles" represent the areas yet to be picked-up. MMJ

This Saturday is Election Day. Please note that The Lollipop Christmas Parade in Downtown Covington will begin at 4pm on Election Day. Voters that vote in precincts 𝐂𝟎𝟔, 𝐂𝟎𝟕 & 𝐂𝟎𝟖 will have full access to The Elections Training Room located in the Justice Center Parking Garage.
Please 𝐀𝐕𝐎𝐈𝐃 the following streets:
N. Jefferson
N. Columbia
N. New Hampshire
N. Theard Street

The back entrance to the Justice Center Parking Garage will be accessible via N. Madison Street. Please see the parade route below.

The History and Holly Home Tour is certainly one of Covington's coolest events. One fun part is strolling the streets and then spotting friends you haven't seen in many years. Happens a lot. This year the CHF will be selling those cute little Christmas ornaments with scenes of Covington painted on them. Just good fun.
